Continually hearing about all these assistant coaches with the "wow" factor who are gonna be the next big thing. All the razzamataz and hype going on about some of these blokes would have you believe we are on the dawn of the second coming............heard it all before, over and over.I reckon Michael Gudinski has a better chance of finding the next "Beatles" than we have of discovering who can cut it in the coaching caper.........So forget about finding that needle in a haystack and go for the tried and trusted. If Ratts needs help, get him someone who's been there and done it.So forget the hype,go for a qiet achiever Mr Reliable in Craig Lambert.........!!!!!...........Craig Lambert.Who the eff is Craig Lambert ?well,he's the guy that sat next to "Lethal" when the Lions were the wrecking ball of the competition.Craig was 2IC to the best in the business.Thats good enough for me.

Good call Mick...Lamby is a beauty...BUT - he is adamant he's going to take a break in season 2011. I think that's as much his wife's call as his....he has spent the last 17 years at the Gabba and his wife has looked after many of the kids when they first arrive in Brisbane. The Lamberts' are a huge loss to the Brions. I'd certainly be putting a call through...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

There was also talk of him coming to Carlton when he left Richmond

Should definitely make a push for Lambert. While they're at it get Craig to convince Wayne Brittain to come along too.

Yes, he's one of the two big fish we must land. Laidley is the other. And if Milburn retires and has aspirations, he'd complete the trifecta

Now here's my dream team

LAIDLEY - Director Of Coaching
RATTS - Senior coach and match day development (on the ground)
LAMBERT - Senior Assistant and match day coach (in the box)
RILEY - Senior Assistant and midfield coach
MILBURN - Assistant and defense coach
BARKER? - Assistant and forward coach

Never forgive and never forget what that low life !@#$%^%$#!@#$%^&* did to SOS, nor what Thug Balme did to our other Fullback of the Century - 'Sir' Geoffrey Southby.

I'd love to see one of "The Carlton Boys" knock their smug smiles from here to Siberia.

Allowing either of them within ten miles of Carlton would tarnish the brand permanently. :fight:

If i remember correctly, Lambert is batting higher above his average than any bloke in the history of the world.
Anyone have some pics?

I'd have thought his skincare skills could come in handy for young Matty Kreuzer.

I thought after the McDonald news, we were looking at drafting him.

But as an Assistant coach, sure, why not.
