If we were playing today, how do you think our boys would've responded to the pressure and intensity?

Incorrect...We match high intensity football with high intensity football.

It's the lower intensity and middle of the road games we cannot get up for which is a disgrace. In each of the big games this year we have risen to the occasion bar Collingwood.

Nah we're a team that the MC doesn't know what level of intensity we will bring to a game.

Some games the intensity is great, others abysmal.

Just an off the side note ... a little boast.

I have had 2 bets on the football this year.

1. Judd Brownlow ... won $250

2. GF Draw ... won $500 (I had what you would call a premonition ... been telling everyone at work for 3 days).

Anyone want some tipping advice?? :smoking: :smoking:

Well done BlueRob!

Now, can I have numbers for OzLotto on Tuesday? :smoking:

And as for this thread, I dont think our team is up to that type of pressure yet.
We are still too flaky

To be honest, I dare say that if we were playing yesterday we would have done what we've done all year........ Play 3 great quarters but loose because of one dissapointing qtr.

It's almost fitting that yesterdays result was a draw. Collingwood lost it because of thier 2nd qtr and StKilda because of thier 1st.

Football is 4 qtrs. The intensity must be evident for all of those 4qtrs.......

We are not quite there, but then again, we're also not far off it... Which is exciting!

I have talked my wife out of 2 footy bets this year - the same ones! Needless to say I am in the doghouse.

one of the big diffs b/w the GF teams and us is their reliability Vs our variability.
we will be a top 4 team when we can produce our best for 4Qs each week.
we'll need to improve a bit to be a genuine premiership likelihood (eg. Pies, Saints & Geel this year).
but, reliability and consistency of high intensity is worth more to us than any individual recruit, IMO.

having said that, i think stk came to play 'round 26', as they said they would. collingwood came to play a GF. hence the disparity until stK got their act into gear in the 2nd half.

The Saints top 6 is very good but they have lots of battlers. They are great because they have great discipline, structure and toughness, and a coach with massive authority who has a clear message and can deliver it in a way that means players don't deviate. I don't reckon their list is much better than ours. Would Dempster, Eddy, McQualter, Dawson, Blake, Ray, Peake and others get a run with us. They'd be very fringe. Likewise I don't reckon the Bullies of last year who almost made the granny, had more talent than us. I rcekon Eade is an excellent coach though.

We would have got flogged by either team yesterday which is why we were 8th and they were in the gf.

A lot of people around here would call u crazy for saying our list is as good as two of the top four teams....
