Has he done enough to win it this year? Started like a house on fire and I can't see GIbbs nor Murphy "stealing" too many from him this year as they did last year... He really has been the standout. Will be interesting to see if the hype helps Swan across the line. My theory is that the umpires are educated, private school types who don't warm to a bloke who looks like he hangs out at the public bar of a dodgy inner city hotel, and therefore Swan will be outpolled by Pendlebury, just as he was last year. I rate Ablett and Pendlebury as the threats....

how many games did we win?

11?

If Judd avgs 1.5 votes in each of our wins, then he ends up with 16.5 pts, but then of course need to factor in he missed first 3 games'

If he avgs 2 votes a win then he is around the 18 votes mark

Won't win IMO

I'm sorry, I thought the Brownlow had already been awarded to Dane Swan?

If Judd avgs 1.5 votes in each of our wins, then he ends up with 15 pts, as he missed the round 1 Richmond game.

If he avgs 2 votes a win then he has 20 votes, which is the same amount of votes Ben Cousins won with in 2005.

However this is unlikely. As Gary Ablett won with 30 last year.

Won't win IMO

Judd will poll well (15-20) but don't think he can win.
I reckon Goddard is a strong chance.

I think umpires listen to media noise and get on the bandwagon, so Swan will win it probably.

Jimmy Bartel on OWAAT said he'd voted for Swan in the MVP, thats good enough for me.

Good player but overrated for sure. He is not the best player in the comp, there are way more players I would rather in my side than Dane swan: reiwoldt, j.brown, hodge,Goddard, pavlich, Judd, ablett, Scarlett etc.

But he is a midfielder and plays for collingwood. The press are all over him, but really he is an average kick, has had 2 standout seasons and is very limited in his flexibility around the ground. There are way more valuable players but for some reason the brownlow ignores that!

Who cares how many standout years he's had or even if he's the comp's best player when talking about his Brownlow chances? Lots of less credentialled players have won the Brownlow.

Kicking is not Goddard or Hodge, but very effective, like the rest of his game. He's a strange player, looks slower than he is, doesn't glide along the turf or have eye-catching style. I expect him to win on Monday, hopefully he'll be in a position to celebrate with some alcoholic beverages!

I'll be honest, I'm getting on someone other than Murphy, Betts, Garlett, Judd and Walker to top our voting

$41 with Tab. Notable absentees on that list Simpson, Gibbs, waite

as a huge simmo fan i can but dream

If Judd doesn't dress properly, he won't even get in.

Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt demonstrated what not to wear in a purple shirt and striped tie, and Carlton's Jordan Russell nailed black tie in a slick, James Bond-worthy suit.

Nice one, Jordy.

We won 11 games and Judd played in 9 or10 of them. He was our best or second best in almost all those wins according to the newspaper reporters. That gives him an advantage over players like Ablett and Swan who have three or four players in their teams who poll BOG votes weekly. On that basis, Judd might well have a good chance. It is after all, an individual award.

Worth a flutter.

Sandilands is also an outside chance although he missed a few games at the end which Freo won..

Not sure how Judd will go. The guys who do http://www.phantombrownlowmedal.com.au at that link have him on 20 votes and a fair way behind Dane Swan.

I think the problem with Judd is he had alot of quiet games and Carlton had a bad middle of the season which could cost him. Swan was in the best most weeks, i cant see him not winning tbh.

Not sure I'd be taking much notice of that count - they have Scott Thompson from North on 20 votes as well?? :screwy:

The massive factor in Judd's favour is that our other so-called stars won't be taking a lot of votes away from him. eg, murphy, gibbs, kreuzer etc

I reckon Juddy is still a good bet at current odds of 15.0. With 8 rounds to go, he was 2nd or 3rd favourite at about 8.0. Then he had 2 or 3 quiet games. Then in final 4 games, he'll go close to picking up 10 votes.
