In the end you have to be disappointed, but we gave it everything we had, the players busted a nut out thee, may not have played the smatest game, but you can't fault their effort,

Not enough in the end though

Not really - had always a gut feel we would fall short - we struggle to find sharpness in close games.

Story of the year. A half of football doesn't win against good teams.

Fall short is an under statement,,,,,,,,,,wish we were flogged by 10 goals not by 5 points,,,it hurts more!!!!!

Now what do I have to do to lift my spirits again ???????

Absolutely gutted. Two flower years in a row

Had chances early in the last to put it away and choked.

Just lost a prelim birth

They busted a gut in the second half, the troopers battled it out for four quarters.

What brought us undone and ended our season for a second year in a row is the same shit as always

I'm finding it hard to choose words that express what I'm feeling

What peeves me the most is that I have not seen a final live since 2001. Getting a bit sick of that.

gutted but was a fantastic finals game.

Raped by the umps in the first half.

We had so many opportunities to finish the game off but just came up short. We definitely stepped up from last year.

Our backline was a joke at the start, Thornton being left out cost us the match.

Waite's two absolute sitters, one from a set shot one from running into open goal.

Hendo's two dropped sitters in the goal square.

Simmo's two posters.

Judd's sitter running into an open goal.

What could have been...

@#$%&! :banghead:

Eddie had a shocker. If someone does not pull him aside over summer and get him to work on his set kicking for goal.....then we are a joke. Lack of development in this club is why we cannot break into the top four.

They tried their best, but too many schoolboy errors that just kill you.

Gutted.

Carried over from earlier thread -

We only have ourselves to blame for poor losses mid season.....lack of development is still the key. The good clubs turn 2nd and 3rd round picks into good players in one or two years. For us it takes 4-5 seasons.

Carlton actually have second round picks? You actually have to have enough good players to make the development possible.
