Never understood the shit thrown at Hamill whilst everyone wished Eddie all the best when he left.

Great footballer who’d had a career best year and Elliott gave him a serve at the B&F instead of lining up an appropriate contract.

Blight rated him in the league’s top 10 at that time. If his body had held up he could have been anything.

Wes was not exactly happy with Jack after that episode.

Great appointment.

I think what Hamill did was wrong, but in his defence he was a pretty young guy at the time. We've all done our share of dumb hot headed shit in our younger years.

I'm still a bit funny about having him back though. It'll take a little while to process

Sandy were a worse team than Northern Blues under his leadership.

Well, I've built a few London Bridges in my time, and I'm pleased to have Aaron back.
But as I wrote in another thread, if Neil Balme or Alistair Clarkson are ever employed by us, I'm out.

Agree Heavs we developed him into a really good footballer and no one worked harder to develop himself
Indefatigable in his efforts when he didn’t have the ball tough and uncompromising
My recollection is that we picked him up as pick 79 of the draft and his first game was a final in Brisbane where we got belted the only shining light was the young guy who kicked 3 goals and looked promising in all seasons at Carlton a genuine finals player
Got Sticks no 4 number

No wonder a crotchety old B wasn’t happy

I'm of the thinking Voss would have had some involvement with this signing of Aaron so we wait and see. On the basis the "Teague 5 goal Gift" (or worse) does not somehow transfer to the Voss/Hamill combo then happy days!

Why is he second choice?

Scarlett not answering our calls. Hamill did

Were we ever a realistic chance to get Matthew Scarlett?

I remember going to a preseason training session in Aaron’s 2nd year. The training was on the outside oval and Parkin was standing on the fence. Ended up having a chat for 10mins.

I asked him his thoughts on Aaron. He said, “with luck he might turn into a good ordinary footballer at best.”

Hmmm I'm a bit underwhelmed too, hate to say it.
Hope Vossy has some guns lined up for the other coaching spots.

I was pretty p#ssed off when Hamill left 20 odd years ago and at the moment I feel pretty indifferent to his appointment.
Would have been more than happy if he rode off into the Moorabbin sunset.
Just ironic that he comes back a week after Elliot passes away.

Laidley oversaw a decline on his list and is a second rate performer in front of the media.

Very happy he's got nothing to do with our club. Show me one positive thing he did with North whilst it was declining and not trading for positive improvement. Crap List? It was declining under his management.

PS As for Barker, dont judge his performance without considering Roughead's increased weight gain and fitness problems / injury to Cyril Rioli. Add Franklin's jury problems and I dont think its fair to assess him on Hawthorn output alone.

Jumped into this thread and it was back on discussions about laidley! Fair to say we dodged a bullet there!

I was reading somewhere that the sinners had the most 5 goal run on in 2021. Blues were third.

I don't have a link or whatever, but apparently he isn't answering any ones calls. Perhaps what Caro said on FC recently about him wanting to take a year off and/or time away from footy is true? Maybe Scott killed his desire? So many potential reasons. But if we did try and he didnt even bother responding then he isnt the right person for us.
