With a poor 2010 membership level and a clear disengagement with grassroots supporters/members, it's time for change at Carlton.

The old school approach by Kernahan & Coutts in particular is outdated and they both need to be moved on.

A new President should immediately engage an appropriate independent firm (not Vossy  ) to review its operations and advise on measures that brings Carlton into the modern age and re-engages it with its supporters/members new and old.

No more 'shifty inhouse Carlton' which takes it grassroots for granted. That 'Carlton' has turned too many people away.

I want to become a member again in 2011, but not until I see a REAL change in attitude at Carlton.

Don't become a member then. We're heading in the right direction and it's time so called supporters stopped bagging and started supporting. We need stability not bloodletting which you are promoting.

There doesn't need to be anything other than a regular review. Sticks needs to be reminded of his temporary capacity. Coutts is clearly under fire, as evidenced by his foray into social media when he's clearly not equipped for it. Teague and Lappin will be heavily scrutinised, particularly Lappin who was previously working down on the bench delivering messages for Ratten & co.

A lack of tactical depth in midfield play and kick-out strategy (yes kick-outs improved, but under pressure we selected the long-bomb to the left flank almost every time) should also be analysed. Players seem to be unsure of what to look for and how far to run to present for the spread, and I personally think (based on comments made by Ratten) this lies in the initial instruction being delivered in a complex fashion, and thus the simplified reinforcement given thereafter confuses the message further.

I'd also scrutinise the medical and physio staff based on the number of players who seem to be continually playing through niggles week in week out. Perhaps their regiment needs to be better monitored through the week, whether that be via a Sydney-style self-administering database, or more intense player management.

You could start by asking our opponents to be more gentle in the tackle.

Poor memberships in comparison to Collingwood's 18,000 three-game tickets?... Lets get a standard metric before calling our figure a failure.

Agree 100% here.... I can't see any benefit in having a new leadership ticket go around counting up numbers for support only to HIRE an agency to tell them what they need to be doing.

With the ants still going it will probably be another week at least before we hear of any Footy Department 'movements'.

Kernahan Coutts and a few others have had a good innings, could well be time for a bit of a spring clean. :yikes:

I hope you don't become a member again in 2011 because you are a bit delusional and REALLY boring.

Yeah but Molly wasn't talking players closed down with your recommendation and you didn't really post anyway after that? It seems you don't like the way things are around here yet when things are changed to suit you you don't post anyway. Also there was no need to open the thread if you didn't like it, the title was pretty self explanatory.

I still agree with you that Nick Stevens won't take us anywhere and we've got a brand spanking new Talking Players we can take it to :donk:

FWIW Sticks was a reluctant President to begin with. I am not sure what his intentions are for the future but all I would hope is that if a suitable candidate came along then it did not become a shit fight.
In saying that no matter what happens in the future I will always be a member. I support the Carlton Football Club and not any particular individual. I reserve the right to have unconditional opinions on the servants of our footy club.
