We had our footy day as well.
Being out in the Western Suburbs, the Bulldogs and Bombers were the clear favourites with Geelong with them.
Not many Blues around.
That'll change. Kids are bandwagoners.

It's footy day at the kids' school today. In previous years you'd be lucky to spot more than a handful of kids wearing navy blue amid the sea of Saints, Bombers, Cats and Magpies jumpers. This year I was pleased to see that there was a healthy sprinkling of kids proudly wearing Navy Blue. It's also good to not have the kids come home upset because other kids have teased them with stuff like "Why would you barrack for a crappy team that never wins?" |

Funny you bring that up because I too noticed that last week. The little one had her 'Footy Club colors' day at school. She was dressed up proudly in her Blues jumper, scarf and hoodie jacket and I was surprised at the amount of Blues colors around the school. I could of sworn that at last years footy club colors day she was the only one wearing the navy blue!! Good to see... |

Being in the Templestowe / Doncaster area, we always had very strong Blues support - loads of Greeks and Italians.... But, yes the kids are now showing their colors, in the past it was less obvious. |

My stepdaughter wore her Blues jumper with 25 on it yesterday to footy jumper day at school for the first time since he left, probably the only Carlton jumper amongst the bum sniffers |

We live in Hawthorn East, 9 out of 22 kids in my 7yo sons Grade 1 class wear the navy blue.

It's not only the play ground but actually workplaces. I have recently been visiting another worksite for my company and wearing my Carlton lappel (the thing that goes around your neck) and the number of people coming up to me declaring their support of the mighty blue baggers was surprising. An idea I have had is to have a CFC/Navy Blue day. We pick a day and for that day you wear a CFC item, jumper, tee shirt, hat what ever. It would be interesting to see the number of people wearing the navy blue. And with the TC members from all over the world, we could make it an international day

Its the best looking jumper by a mile. That's why I started barracking for the baggers in 1968.......saw it on a footy card on the back of a box of Cornflakes Mum and Dad weren't happy as they're one eyed Doggies fans  At least I can say I've seen 8 flags in my lifetime, and hopefully the 17th isn't too far away.

When I was in primary school in the late 80s/early 90s the Hawks were the most popular team by far. Otherwise we followed the traditional teams (Blues, Filth, Bummers, Dees) The main thing I remember is the hatred of interstate teams! |
