I find it amusing, actually, are you sure he is serious? However, from what criteria do you judge success? Could we have gone further with another coach? If not, why not? |

no value adding so hendo is not value adding So garlett is not value adding but wait you think Murph is stagnating despite that game Waite after a knee reco is the same? Army showed no improvement this year Lucas looked lost every time he went near the ball, White too? Warnock is a total loss thanks to Ratts And Jacobs has shown nothing but the same old same old Their has been value adding maybe not as much as you think could be but lets get realistic. Why is it in this crazy old dog chasing tail segment that only the negatives are ever acknowledged. Yes we are fragile and we we start poorly and yes our form fell away the second half of the year (though the last 2 weeks were not bad) but we can also now play a game as good as anyone. Not often enough, not for long enough but where did that game come from - outer space. did it fall with the red rain of China? Or maybe Ratts is adding value and there has been improvement but what about this as we improve and as we expect more and as we push to try and climb up the ladder, the weaknesses, the players that are not quite there, the experience, the belief (and so forth) show how far we have still to go. Its a long way but we are @#$%&! closer now than three years ago - that's value adding. |

Can anyone please tell me where they see that Ratten can take us any further ?????? The club can spin all it wants about we had no Fev and no one expected us to make the 8 so why complain however the facts seem to show that we finished 8th and again lost our first final which is less successful than 2009 when we finished 7th and lost our first final.... We still struggle with our kick ins when the oppossition kick a point.....Rattens game plan seems to be negative instead of proactive, eg Gibbs continues to play defensive roles off half back when clearly he is a better midfielder who should be a part of our midfield rotations......Ellard, Joseph and Carrazzo all play negative / defensive roles.... I strongly believe Ratts has taken us as far as he is capable of taking us and the time is right to make a change......This won't happen however as Sticks is not strong enough to make the hard decisions... The other question is would we have won if Roos was our coach today....I believe we would have...Would Roos stand for the lack of development we have seen over the last 2 years?????? Would Roos continue to play blokes who don't perform consistantly week in week out????? If Ratts coaches next year and we don't recruit a Laidley type to assist him, we will again finish around 7th or 8th and more than likley not win the first final again....

You'rre a big fan of Fev and Thornton, we had neither for most of the year and still managed to make the finals and go down by a kick playing an interstate final. If you'd said we'd gone sideways, I'd understand that. |

I think it fair to say in a match lost by 5 points the result could easily go either way. Judd's miss, Waite's miss, Henderson's dropped mark, his play on and poor handball (not criticising any one player, just examples) were all out of Ratts' hands. From completely and utterly out coached earlier in the year against the Swans to within an absolute whisker of winning today, away from home, in a cut throat final is an improvement from even 8 or 9 weeks ago. Kruezer, Yarran, Lucas, White and whoever else back in the side and I think we get those 6 points needed. We were hosed on a couple calls today, made a couple bad choices and were unlucky a few others. None of that is Ratts' fault. We battled so, so hard today. But just fell short. |
