Summary from what I heard (FWIW spoke really well)
* Used the "word contested footy" at least 10-15 times during his interview
* When asked what went wrong during our mid-season slump. Mentioned that our contested footy numbers were well below average, win the contested football more than likely you win games in this day and age. Group stuck together during tough times, doesnt read the paper but could feel the pressure from the media, supporters building in house.
* What turned it around: Said the win against Essendon* was a major turning point as it instilled the confidence back into the group. Mentioned you guessed it "contested footy" at levels that it should be.
* How we would approach the Freo: Win the contested football and hopefully run them ragged.
* Has no set routines for before a game.
* His own form turnaround: Basically been working hard on his marking with Skinny Lappin. Harfs asked him if it was difficult for his team mates to adjust without fev, said it wasn't an issue, had been a long pre-season to work on new structures.
* Harfs asked who had surprised him most at the club in ability. Said that Simmo was a gem highly underrated in the media also said that Waite was extremely good to play along side in the forward line.
* Keen golfer, plays off 7 handicap
That was about all I can remember
Yep, that's about it.
Interesting to note that when they were first speaking about Fevola in a Carlton context that Henderson didn't mention him by name, but something like "due to a high profile departure". Subsequently, Harford then referred to Fev as "that other player" or somesuch. Wasn't until they were speaking about the reasons for leaving Brisbane (ie. seeking more fwd opportunities) that Lachie mentioned Fevola by name.
Oh, right at the start of the interview Henderson said he prefers playing forward and that's where he played all his junior footy. Main reason he got games in defence at Brisbane was due to the Bradshaw and Brown combo.
I agree with Siegfried, too, Henderson presents well in interviews. He'll get better as he gets more accustomed to being in the spotlight as well.
Fev was great for us when he was flying and we were otherwise crap, but I get the feeling the biggest contribution he made to our club was performed at last year's Brownlow medal. Thanks mate, we owe you one!
