Jeff Garlett's second year at AFL level is particularly stunning, with 34 goals from 18 games at a smidge under 2 per game.

It was not until Eddie Bett's 5th year that he got close to this sort of level:

In Fevola's third year he got close, before blitzing it up to 3 goals a game and above as a key forward in his 5th year:

As a discussion point, how far can Garlett go as a goalkicker? Does his position mean he's close to as good as it gets for a Carlton fan?

..not at all.. ..if Bettsy was more accurate he'd have over 50.. ..and while i think Bettsy is better off the deck, i haven't seen any small as consistently good, hitting packs front and center at pace as Jeffy has done these two years.. ..Jeffy's better with space to sprint in to, Bettsy better in the packs.. ..i think Jeffy may have an extra yard in kicking though.. ..what the 3 smalls allow us [4 if you include murph/robbo's runs thru there],, is the ability to push one further up the ground.. ..i think Jeffy could be devasting in space along the wing.. ..and a great target for the defenders as well..

The Dominator kicked 50 or so goals in his 2nd year...

Garlett has been a ripper this year I reckon.

And, yes, he only a 2nd year player, so if he goes missing every now and then cut the guy some slack. His upside is terrific. Give the guy some time to develop and work on his consistency and application and we will be miles ahead.

When i first Saw him, he looked like a Skeleton and not a footballer...I had doubts he could make it....

The thing that impresses me about him is his Tackling and forward pressure. For a guy of his size, he lays almost half of the team's tackles. Very impressive
