When Kreuzer returns where do we play the Hammer if Warnock/Jacobs Kreuzer is the ruck combo.

Consider these points
The defence is crying out for a big mother. That was so obvious from Friday's nights game.

Hammer has the physical attributes size and pace. His kicking skills are a concern though

Its something worth considering.

I dont want to delist any of these 4 guys
Thats including Warnock who I severely misjudged

At the very least the MC should play Hammer in a variety of spots because the guy is unique in his size and pace.

I've been pleased to see Warnock go fwd and take a couple of marks in the last few weeks.

Like Hampson and Kreuzer he's a ruckman who can pinch hit up fwd, but in the end they're ruckmen.

Yes, its that simple

The player we should be looking at as an optional big defender to play on the opposition monsters is Setanta. He was considered to be close to All Australian defender for the first half season a couple of years ago, but now for some unfathomable reason is earmarked as a FF only.

Play Warnock and Hampson in the ruck, play Kruez as a ruck rover.
His ability to win the ground ball is very good and he'd be a potent weapon as a marking midfielder.

Until the big fella takes more marks than he drops he can't be a defender.

It's something worth thinking about for certain matchups. We don't have anyone to go with the Pods/Brown/Hall type players.
Hammer would have the size, speed, reach, and leap to make a lot of spoils. Wouldnt be great on the rebound but worth a try.

Kruez needs to become the New and Improved Adam Goodes - Mr Versatility

..maybe, maybe not.. ..if he tucks the ball under his arm and goes for a run and bounce.. ..who's gonna catch/stop him..??..

I don't think Hampson can play back, nor O'hAilpin.

The big question is where to play Kreuzer. I think Warnock will become our number 1 ruckman. So, does Kreuzer become the second ruck playing forward? If so, one of Hampson or Jacobs, as much as we'd like to keep both, become trade bait, and pretty decent trade bait as well, given the over the odds return you get for ruckmen. Both have shown enough this year to have other clubs very interested. Could get a first round draft pick (given Wood, Jolly (before he was any good), French etc all were traded for frist rounders) or a decent player.

Does Kreuzer play permanently forward? I don't see him as a FF, but as a potential CHF. Henderson's development there has been great, and I think he will become a very good CHF. Don't like the idea of Kreuzer at FF, I think he thrives on being able to run around, although would love to be able to release Waite to a wing, which i think is his best spot. That begs a question in my mind...

Could Kreuzer play that tall, running swing-man wingman? Would love to see him in that role, to see how he goes.

Caveat: Hampson MAY be off to GC, in which case we should hopefully get something good in return.
BUT, assuming he stays, its not that difficult: rotate Warnock, Hampson, Kruezer through ruck/forward/bench.
Both Hampson & Kreuzer can play like midfielders with their pace (esp Kruezer) and Warnock is at least as capable as Sandi of dominating ruck and playing link man around the ground, once he gets fitter.

Maybe Kruz could be that big bodied mid we are looking for, instead of sticking him out wide on the wing.
Against Freo Pav monstered Juddy a few times at centre bounces, maybe Kreuz could start just throwing his weight around at ground level, whilst still helping out fwd and back.

I dont give a shit where they play Hammer, just so long as he is in the side.Absolute lunacy having this guy running around in the magoos....................and Kruez and Warnock plus the Hammer,on the contrary to being imbalanced, will create an imbalance in the opposition.Get creative Ratts, try something differant and is completely your own.Set the trend.

Absolutely!!!!!!!!! All 3 should be played, we should be creating the headaches for the opposition teams.
-Hammer is just starting to clunk a few, he could be an absolute monster and he is only 21-22?? MUST BE SELECTED
-Warnock is a true ruckman, he is just starting to realise his potential, he could be a sandilands type dominator for sure! cannot wait for him to get fitter and stronger!! MUST BE SELECTED
- KREUZER, well we all know how good he is, can play forward, and would love to see him developed as CHF, we know he can play ruck, so add another string to his bow. He could be a supremely difficult matchup if he learn the marking trade. MUST BE SELECTED

Why not play all 3? The concern is about rotations and being too top heavy - bull. If these 3 are up and about we could create a situation where we can dominate smaller teams. Waite is as mobile as anyone, while hendo can play deep, up the ground and down back if needed. Next year let the tall blue timber grow!!

A rotation of Kreuzer, Warnock and Hampson as ruck/forward and interchange could see us average 4 goals per game from this combination. I would take 88 goals if you gave it to me right now.

Getting back to the question about Hampson as a future defender. I can't see it happening. Lacks the footy smarts to play in this spot. Even Lance would beat him on the lead with his smarts.

 .. finally people are starting to understand that all 3 can and should be played in the same side. Hendo / Waite starting to understand each other more as well and suddenly with amigo's & Robinson/Houlihan our forward line looks more and more POTENT.

now to get McLean up and running.

Have to agree, Too high risk as a defender. I like seeing him rested in the forward line where we can give him more game time to develop when not rucking. He is starting to take the strong grabs after dropping them at the start of his comeback. I like the fact that he is prepared to take his marks from the front and bring the ball to the ground in packs. Now needs to work on his robotic kicking action.

Setanta being close to all Australian is the funniest things I have either heard or read all day, thanks for making me laugh.

yeah but u gotta take into account the effect on midfield rotations, especially if the interchange gets capped.
