Did anybody at tonight's game happen to pay close attention to the Little League clash at half time? I'm not sure how old they were, or how the matches are set up, but the team representing Carlton was absolutely brilliant. They had quite a few young kids who just look like footballers. They were skilled, disciplined and, well, fantastic. It was the first time I've ever watched a Little League match in awe. One player in particular, number 3 for the Blues with the yellow boots was absolutely out of this world. He was taking fantastic pack marks overhead, using his teammates, hitting targets, dashing off half back, always taking the right option... Then he capped it all off by taking yet another sensational mark from a couple deep and drilling a 35m + goal straight over the goal umpires hat. I'd be really interested to find out some names and keep tabs on their progress over the years because, simply, a few of them look extremely talented. Just wow. |

The highlight of the Swans game for me was watching this amazingly tubby kid run around in the little league. He was huuuuuge. |

I am sure Cazzesman was there taking notes. Probably the only reason he goes to the footy so he can spot talent in the Big M little league. |

I too was amazed by some of the little league players. Number 3 played like he was a couple years ahead of pack so good was he. |

The most impressive thing for me was how well they played as a team. They were linking up, running hard and using each other if their teammate was in a better position. Their coaches have done a sensational job in making them playing like they do. They had sensational spacial awareness for players of that age. I started to take notice when their first passage of play involved number 3 marking strongly off half back, dashing down the wing, he kicked down the line onto someones chest, He drew his man before giving it back, number three then handballed to another player who put the ball onto the chest of a teammate running towards goal. He didn't have to break stride as he gathered, stepped inside an opponent and drilled a 25m goal. I loved the 20 meter handballs to teammates, the precise kicking to advantage, clean marks out in front with hands raised. It was a real joy to watch these guys play the game so well and have fun doing it. |

This is 11 year olds you're talking about right?! Not sure if it belongs in 'TalkingRecruitment' or the A Victory for anyone who said "he looks like a paedo" thread over at the SCE. seanpb wrote: The most impressive thing for me was how well they played as a team.
