Do we think these two could eventually play up the ground?

Garlett's pace is exceptional, knows how to get past players, could see him bouncing off HBF a la Wanganeen, indeed comparisons have been made

Yazz also has speed and excetional skill

I just think we need to build a young midfield and generate run off HBF, and I see Yarran, Garlett + Lucas and Grigg as really good young prospects to compliment the already proven Murphy, Gibbs, and Russell.

Lucas & Grigg have a bit of grunt about them the two amigos still need lots of work on their defensive games....

Both definitely. IMHO Garletts defensive game is pretty good

Yarran = midfield
Garlett = forward line, roaming up to the wing

Bell and Biv are pretty handy...but if it were up to me, I would look at trading Devoe.

Well for starters I attended the Richmond / St.Kilda game in the Medallion Club tonight and I'm incredibly drunk...and when I'm drunk I'm brutally honest...Eddie's a junk time goal specialist....when the heat is on against the good defensive sides (Geel, Coll, Syd) he goes missing big time. He's not going to get any better. I'd do a trade right now for a real small forward. As it is we have Garlett and Yarran...Betts is superfluous...

..not always true.. ..been plenty of times he's kicked goals earlier in the match.... ..i also think if he can get fitter, he'd be excellant in the middle for the bounce in bursts, as he's a very good clearance player..

Hey...it was Richmond v St.Kilda - what did you expect me to do?

Fittest he's going to get was this off season. Sobering up now....stand by statements made...trade while we can get something for him...problem is - Carlton doesn't know much about negotiation 101.

West Coast continue to sniff around Neon Leon....we're not interested. McKinley and second rounder is the best we could hope for...that means 'last chance' Eddie will stay.

I would field offers for Betts ahead of any of our rucks at this stage.

Like the Doc says I don't see him getting much better. Right now he has real currency given he's kicked 40-odd goals this year and been consistent over a few seasons. I think it will not happen though as the club might feel a trade would destabilise the other boys.

Looking at other clubs who might bite at this I would say Adelaide would be the best of them as far as what we could get in return. He'd also have a bit more space there to operate. Brisbane is also a contender and would reunite him with Fev.

No idea what his value would be though.

Dr Sherrin do u mind if I call u Dr Genius?

Spot on

Me and my mates have been saying lately Betts for Hurn ha but sadly he is SA

But I do agree Betts goes missing against the gun sides sometimes and lets face it he has been terrible since signing his big deal

I'd actually drop his arse next week a game out of finals

..can't and won't agree on this.. ..i don't know what ppl want out of a small forward.. ..pretty much every year on our list he has improved.. ..more goals, more tackles, more assists pretty much each season for us.. ..he works hard, and he's fairly durable.. ..leading goal kicker this year, 2nd highest for most seasons [bar fisher's one good year].. ..great crumber, good contested mark for his size.. ..very good lead up target.. ..also, when pushed through the midfield he almost always gets a clearance..
