On The Couch, Ratten was asked who he thought had improved from last year. Answer was Garlett, Armfield and a few others. Fair enough.

Who has "statistically" improved since last year?

According to http://www.finalsiren.com the answers are quite startling!

That's the percentage increase or decrease statistically according to finalsiren's ranking system. Excludes those who didn't play for Carlton last year.

Gibbs and Murphy both had brilliant years last year, especially Murphy with his goal kicking, so no surprise to see them go backwards.

So how are we going as a team compared to previous years?

Okay, still improving. So why do we feel we're going backwards?

Yup, the gap has slowly been narrowing since Round 12 and we are on a slight downward trend since then, whilst those who we play are on a slight upward trend.

So our two biggest improvers cant get selected and our three No 1's have gone backwards :eek: :?

Empirical evidence? Well it's uniform data sampling that applies to every player and every team. Is that right?

If so, it's a set of figures worthy of consideration.
Sure there may be other variables that need consideration, but for the purpose of this analysis...hats off to you verbs.

I like it.....................you should do more of it.

Can't remember off the top of my head but there was 2 posters who use to provide data and graphs.
One of them looked at the opposition in the next round. Remember them?
They're not around anymore, so verbs you've set the bar...it's all yours. Thanks.

Interesting graphical presentation there Verbs - good work!

I think one of the graph experts was GWS. He used to do the membership graphs if you remember?
