It is clear that we have not developed as we would have liked as evidenced by the past month or so. We have a development team that, as I understand it, is responsible for the development of our younger players. Something is not right. I would love some one to come on this forum to give an overview of what our development program entails.
More info please.

Given you've stated we've not developed as we would have liked and something isn't right, perhaps you could give an overview of our development department, their goals, what we'd have liked them to accomplish and what they've accomplished so far.

You know I can't do that which is why I asked. Development is about consistent progress. No need to be a smart arse. It was an honest request borne out of seeing a side really struggle.

What is clear for ll to see are the very poor performances on the field over the past month. A reflection on how our club is managing the younger blokes amongst other things. I know this can be a slow process which is why I was hoping that some one would add constructive comment and provide an overview of the development program at our club. I don't know how the club is assessing the players, what individual and team goals are established and monitored. That is why I requested more info. Nothing sinister so make of that what you will.

What I dont understand is that you say its clear we've not developed as we'd have liked...and then you want others to tell you why.

If its that clear, then I'm asking you tell us why...but you tell me you can't.

I have included what I wrote in the initial post

That is what I asked.

Taff............I know exactly what youré saying.....there's so many really talented kids appearing almost weekly from other Clubs, such as Kyle Hardingham of Essendon*; who burst onto the scene yesterday in his first game, to kick 4 goals.

Looking at our reserves yesterday; there's just no one there that deserves promotion to the Seniors.....so......where's the development of young players?

There's also other areas of development that's lacking.....like skills......E.G. kicking and tackling, how to take a mark.....etc.etc.

Development could include Recruiting too.....who would've known that the JPod was readymade?.....not us!

I seem to recall Andrew Walkers 1st game and Simmos first 3 games. 1 or 3 game does not make a career.

The NAB Rising Star Award started in 1993.....17 years ago.....and Carlton have never won the Award!

We're starved of success at Carlton; and we're not used to that!.....(except for the Pagan years)

Everyone. Nobody thought he was a good option given his lack of pace. I still think he'd only survive in maybe 2 or 3 other teams in the league. Geelong were desperate for a cheap target.

I have said it many times before BUT the development of players by the CFC when they go back to the Bullants is extremely poor. Just seems that players go back and don't improve at all.

So what is the development program at CFC? As a fully paid up member, I have written to the club today to ask for an overview of the development program. Hopefully I will get a constructive response.

Gibbs
Murphy
Austin
Hampson
Grigg
Anderson
Browne
Edwards
Benjamin
Jamison

are the immediate names who come to mind that have either: (i) stalled in their development or gone backwards; (ii) have not come on as much as we expected/hoped after their first season or so on the scene.

Not good enough.

TBB even Ratten struggled with naming players who had come on this year during OTC last week. I cant remember the names of the last one or two he mentioned, but there was a lot of straw clutching. It was obviously considered a fair enough question for Healy and co. Your defensive responses to any criticism labelled at Carlton is embarrassing.

Why on earth would any coach name names on a television program?

We ( as general public) might like to hear it, but it is hardly likely to happen.
