There's a (very small) part of me that hopes we fall just short, so that the team is forced to reflect on the opportunities they missed, and understand the consequences of those times they switched off.

Cats beat Dogs tonight by a goal (good chance. If not, Cats jeopardising a spot in the Final 4)

Saints smash Dees (to stuff p the Dees 10 percent advantage on us) tomorrow night, and

Blues beat Pies by a goal

We have snuck into the 8, replacing the Doggies and only 2 points behind Pies for 7th spot.

Thereafter:

Blues vs GWS/ Swans/ Crows/ Bris

Pies vs Lions/ Suns/ Port

Doggies vs Eagles/ Hawks/ Freo

Dees vs Swans/ Freo/ GWS/ Drugs*

Druggies* vs Eagles/ Cats/ Port/ Dees

GWS vs Blues/ Crows/ Dees/ STK

We all know, if we beat Pies and GWS, we have got a great chance for 7th spot.

It is looking good, but it all starts tonight for us.

As I look at it, if we win by two points, the worst off we can be is 9th.
Freo or GWS could jump over us if their game is a blowout.
Melbourne will have to cop a right thrashing if we are to jump them.
Percentage is going to decide the 8, I reckon.
8-18 is going to haunt us.

Need Geelong to get up here. 4 points!

As I look at it, if we win by two points, the worst off we can be is 9th. Freo or GWS could jump over us if their game is a blowout. Melbourne will have to cop a right thrashing if we are to jump them. Percentage is going to decide the 8, I reckon. 8-18 is going to haunt us.

And coughing up big leads against Geelong, Norf and *. And Nathan Williamson. If we (IMO most likely) finish in the 9th-11th range just outside the 8 on percentage, one would hope the players would look back on these moments not with the "gee whiz that's a bit of a shame" feeling projected at the time, but a genuine burning desire to never let it @#$%&! happen again. I saw this in the GC game a little, where we put our foot down after we allowed them some unearned cheapies. I think for too long this group has been far enough from contention that the consequences of missing opportunities and lack of composure haven't really been understood. But they're now the difference between finals and an also-ran year.
