Rexy don’t tempt me  ok I will bite :banghead:

Funny 6 weeks ago on Footy classified before I obviously turned it over because the scooper pooper was on he suggested we were no chance of making finals
Probably up there with Kreuzer to the Carringbush all those years ago

It's possible but unlikely.

I ran a ladder predictor with us beating all the 'beatable' teams we have coming up (everyone bar Brisbane), and have us just making it.

But for it to happen:
- We can't lose more than one game (likely Brisbane), and need to beat GC, Collingwood, GWS, Sydney and Adelaide. All those teams are beatable, but we all know from following this team that we're just as likely to lose most/all of them in infuriating fashion.
- We need GWS, Collingwood and the Dogs to continue to be shaky.

I predict that we'll most likely win half our remaining games and finish around 10-13. All the while we'll lament lost opportunities earlier in the season (Melbourne, Port, Hawthorn, WCE), and the likely opportunities we'll manage to waste in the final few games.

I had a crack, with us winning all but the Brisbane game I had us in seventh. Have to dream sometimes.

Being an old time supporter, unless we are a realistic chance of the flag, big deal on making the finals.

Sure we are a better chance of winning a few more games playing the old guys rather than the youngsters but it is the youngsters who will see us to the next flag. Play them.

Making the finals gives the club two huge advantages and boost going into the following years:
Experience and confidence to the playing group
Revenue stream uptake - Membership and Sponsorship

#3. We are a Destination Club for players on the other 17 team lists.
#4. Players on our list will do anything they can to remain on it (loyalty enhanced)
#5. The Rebuild overseen by SOS and Bolton is bearing fruits
#6. Given the injuries this year, the depth on the list is there
#7. Green Shoots are now solid branches, with more sprouting
#8. The dream of 17th Flag and Plan for sustained success is real

#9. The arrogance of the Navy Blue Army is building
#10. The AFL Commission plan to destroy a pioneer club of Australian Rules Footy has failed

The Empire strikes back and this one is for you Andrew Demetriou, Gil Maclaughlin, Graeme Samuels and Ronnie "Biggs" Evans

Don't count your chickens till they are hatched.

The weekend's after the siren goal should tell you that.
This group, albeit young, has shown great character in every game this year, and is getting better by the week.

I believe in them, coz they do too.

I’m also in the one week at a time camp given the emotional rollcoaster that every game we play becomes. 4 of 5 wins by 7 points or less. 2 losses by a combined 4 points. Not to mention the initial high and massive low of the Hawthorn game.

Would love to play finals but, if it doesn’t eventuate, it will be disappointing but not the end of the world. We’ve transformed from a completely irrelevant team midway through 2019 (in the mould of the current Crows) to a potential finals team in about 15 months.

Next step of development is about being able to string together multiple wins and knowing how to take care of the easy kill. If we can work that out over the next 6 weeks, we’ll play finals. If not, we reload and go again for 2021. I still feel like we’re in a stage of development where every win is a hard fought scrap which takes an emotional toll on the players. Once we develop the talent and mindset to have consistent 4 goals + type wins, then look out. I don’t think it’s too far away.

Belief is an elusive and powerful thing. Think Teague and the boys truly believe and have set themselves to have a real crack at making it.

We simply have to keep winning.

One game at a time. Get the job done.

From a belief point of view, the next 2 weeks would be the last hurdle.
IMHO, Beating quality opposition in successive weeks like Collingwood and GWS would do it.

I think you're right Surrey.

We have a 4 day break before the GWS game.

Lets hope we do the bruising in the Pies game, and it doesn't take too much out of us.

We have some quality players waiting in the wings for the GWS game:

Mc Govern
Marchbank
Kennedy
Cuningham

Dow
OBrien

Honey
Philp
Owies
