Got a feeling we'll win this one. Don't hold me to that though. But by next week this will either look the stupidest post on here, or the 'Nostradamus' post.

we went 2 wins 1 loss and now the trend is 2 losses and 1 win, so not looking good this week.

Tell us what you know of John Hewson Agro Jnr.

In your own words, given that you were barely born when he was leader of the Coalition.

We learn a lot about Australian Politics in Year 11 Brad.

According to some on this forum you are not allowed to have any opinion or knowledge of anything unless you were born or lived through that period.

So lucky for me I have lived through the most unsuccessful period in Carlton's history but still love and barrack for Carlton.

Assuming Waite gets off and Hoops comes up -

IN: Hoops
OUT: Armfield (inj),

If Hoops doesn't come up, I'd promote Tuohy.

A month or so ago, I would have said leave Zach in the VFL for the remainder of 2010 and let him learn away from the spotlight for now. However, he has come along faster than I expected + injuries to Lucas & Armfield = give Zach a taste a AFL now. It would be a bold move to play him, which just might help keep our momentum going into a game where we will be fairly massive underdogs...

My only concern is that his first game would be against the hard tackling ladder leaders in front of 80,000 (which is another world from the VFL Reserves where he was only a month or so ago). Depending on his personality type, it could make or break him in his first game...that's why I'd probably prefer Hoops (who had a poor game vs WB, but was possible playing injured that day and otherwise has had a good season and is still one of our best finishers) if he's available.

There's also the practical issue of whether Tuohy is eligible for promotion....but with Kreuzer, Lucas and possible Armfield (& ROK?) on the LTI + the new rule that says all clubs can promote a rookie after round 11, I think we should be able to. As far as I know, with White still sidelined, Ellard is the only current promoted rookie (Garlett is a nominated rookie)...?

Tuohy is genuinely quick and has good balance, which may help him to adapt to the pace of AFL better than some. He's also strongly built through the legs & hips and his disposal is already better than half of his Bullants mates (they have him doing the kick-outs FFS!). He has a lot to learn, but he looks to me to have more attributes to make it than Browne or Anderson (although credit should go to Anderson for the way he's gone about it this year in the VFL - he's had his most consistent season in the VFL and he at least looks like he's desperate to be part of the AFL team...however, I fear he may have run out of chances...).

Tuohy's body looks more 'ready made' than Davies' to me, and he strikes me as the logical replacement for Armfield. However, the MC may decide to wait another week or two and debut Zach against Essendon* or Richmond (instead of a rampaging Collingwood)...

We wont have gone into a game such rank underdogs this year, probably not even the Geelong game.

Hopefully this win has given us something, but the Pies seem way too even and professional for us, even if we played well.

Not confident.

Would love to stop the pies, knock them off the top, and start to feel like we deserve finals.

But if we do lose,
please god let it be competitive.
Let's not go backwards - we have essenscum the week after and if we lose to the dons by 10 goals i may need to go into rehab with the amount of midstrength I will need to drink

This is the first time I have ever faced an opposition side genuinely believing that we do not have a hope in hell of winning.

And I love it when people say we have "momentum". I guess it is true, even train wrecks have momentum.

I think it is time for prayer. Divine intervention is about the only thing that will get us over the line next week.
