Ok, still in 8th spot as we all know.

On last years efforts, we all should have believed on natural progression, growth and personal development of our club, on and off the field.

We rid the club of our most divisive player and we secure some young talent in return.

Our goal scoring ability has actually improved, but defensively across the ground, we are getting found out.

How do we salvage the season?

Us being in 8th position, dramatically inflates our current AFL worth. Losing 4 of our last 5, suggests that we are far from competing with the other top 7 teams in September.

Have the better clubs, i.e, Geelong, Collingwood, St Kilda, Fremantle, Hawthorn and the Dogs, improved much further and much greater than the rest of the competition?

Clubs basically from 8 to 16th seem capable of winning against each other on any given day.

There really seems to be a massive gulf between the top echelon and the cannon fodder which is the rest of us.

Thompson, Lyon, Clarkson, Harvey, Malthouse, Roos and Eade, surely must be that much better than the new wave of coaches in the ranks?

We have our elite training centre, we have a plethora of 1st round draft picks and many 3-5 year players and beyond.

So why are 1st and 2nd year players making such a big impact at the above clubs?

Why not at Carlton?

We should forget about finals and stumbling into 8th position this year. We should be fully focused on a game plan and players that will be capable of winning games of footy in a finals series.

I might create another 3-4, I don't think people get the idea yet.
