I do not know about all you guys and this may be a little left of centre. I think that I am losing passion in my footy club. Do not get me wrong, I love the Carlton Football Club. I am member and will be for as long as I am able too. But I feel, that right now, we as supporters and members are being absolutely duded. Being through our salary cap pain and subsequent penalties galvanised our club. Even when we were in a dire financial position, our supporters went week in week out, because even though we were not good enough to compete and were in trenched at the bottom of the ladder, our players had a real crack. Circa 2004. Blokes of the ilk of Bret Johnson, Luke Blackwell, Adam Bentick, Adrian Deluca etc, actually gave a shit about the cause. They were bereft in talent, but had plenty of heart. The majority of this list is totally opposite. We now have the emerging talent, but have a bunch of lazy employee footballers. Blokes that do little more than rock up and grab their match payment. There is only one bloke that works his ass off week in week out. If it continues, I bet Juddy wished he had of joined Collingwood. He could possibly be the difference between them lifting the flag this year. Would Jolly, Swan, Didak and co, put up with the absolute lack of respect dished out to our skipper? I think it is time, to go and get the best possible coach. Not the best available. Time to throw a lot of money at Thompson or Roos. We need discipline. We need cohesion. We need to stop playing the likes of o'Hailpin and Thornton. Why go back to Wiggins or Fish either? Time to see what a Levi or Ellard can do. We know what the others dish up. No need to reheat them. Obviously, we have not improved. We are still there abouts and are in the same position this time this year as we were in round 15 2009. Treading water, while others are improving. It is time to see what our CEO's metal is made of. Time to do what Mr Pratt poached you for. Make some hard decisions and big calls. The clock is ticking. |
