Worst I've ever seen. Not sure when our contract runs out with them but we should be looking at moving all our home games to the G to protect our players from serious injury.

The surface aside, the place shits me no end. Great viewing, but I find the place lifeless and sterile. Give me the ‘G any day. When the time comes, go to work Swanny.

Add Ian Collins to the shit list.

It's great viewing when the roof is closed but on sunny days I can't see shit even with a cap and sun glasses on. Aside from that I think our injury list would look better if we played on the concrete less often.

The new strip of turf was like ice, every player that tried to turn slipped over, players running from the green grass to the side onto that new turf always seem to lose there footing.

Great stadium, crap surface.

Doggies had little problem with it so let's not look for excuses.

I suggest the boot manufacturer design some suitable boots with plenty of cushioning and better grip.

Not blaming the turf but I agree with bosman - pretty much every player from both teams stacked on that new patch just from running on it.

It was beyond a joke. They need to call a crisis meeting and sort it out somehow.

I didn't even bring up the result yesterday. I only raised this as our captain said the surface was crap about a month ago and yesterday players were constantly slipping over while changing direction under a closed roof.

Unprofessional is the best way to describe the management of Docklands stadium.

We football fans are forced by stadium and AFL ignorance to put up with the constant mismanagement of many aspects of this stadium.

There are two big international soccer teams due to play on this surface during the week.

I hope they don't hold back in their criticisms.

Perhaps our players need better footware?

The surface is a long second to the complete lack of atmosphere that theatre generates.

Pressure can only and must come from the AFLPA.

Amy club or individual that tries to stand to the AFL gets punished.

But even the AFLPA gets it's funding directly from the AFL.

No more concerts or any engagements bar AFL gamesw in future seasons is whats needed at min.

So it took a Friday night game for the AFL to notice the surface which was just as bad for the last 3 weeks?

you're an idiot. Stop trying to insinuate this is just our problem

Watch the surface during the Hawks vs. Saints game, and tell me that the turf wasn't flying everywhere..

Caroline Wilson made a comment on footy classified last night saying along the lines "a Carlton official were rapt that they got away from Eithad surface and played at Subi and now have a few games at the G"

They can always turn Eithad into the second ice skating rink at Docklands.

I was shocked to see the roof fully open at Eithad this morning at 7am, was it open overnight I'm not too sure, but if it was with the cold night and dew, couldn't be good for the ground, was it left open for some air but cold air doesn't help, would just make it more slippery.
