Sack the coach. Why? Bec even tho were in the 8 the cold hard reality is we are average, and the old Carlton would never accept mediocrity. I know we lack a quality key fwd but then so do collingwood and yet they are infinitely better than us and with a fairly young team also. We win plenty of ball and have plenty of f50 entries but have no system at all and the players lack true hunger and aggression and at the end of the day motivation is the coaches domain and it's easier to replace one man than get rid of half the list. The last month has been disgraceful. Tigers have a younger team and yet play tough commited footy - it's all about the coach. Time to get Jeanie to delve into her pockets and make roos an offer . As her ex husband would say 'every c$3t has his price'

Richmond lost their first 9 for the season in a row. Some floggings too. I dont think the old carlton would have stood for that.

Dick Pratt would do this

Get Walls and McClure on the Board, reduce the board to 7.
Get rid of 6 of: Harrison, Frid, Rose, Simon QC, Marcus Clarke Lawyer & others(We need football people who do something or Movers and shakers
Buy Silvagni, Buy Paul Roos & a new tackling coach
Let Roos teach Silvagni
Appoint Kernahan as the Forward Coach and thank him for his time as Prez
Trade or Delist: numbers 32, 33, 44

The whole mc need to be looked at too. Ridiculous to play grigg for just one game. Seniors is so much faster than vfl, the kid needed to be given 2 weeks min to pick up the pace of it. So silly to give him one game then he's out. And why they plated o'helpless instead of wiggins astounds me. We all knew o'helpless would struggle to do even one good thing. Wiggles or even fish would have given us more .

The old Carlton would think long and hard before they did anything. It would not be an impulsive action.Very clear, concise, and methodical.....................PS,.....The first to go would be the last to know.PS again.Swann would not have pulled the wool over the old Carlton mob like he has with this naive and easily fooled mob that is currently pulling the strings.

My definition of ridicoulous is different to yours. You lose credibility when you call for the reinstatement of Wiggins who is just not up to it Has not set the VFL on fire to justify a shot. An out of form Setanta who by the way deserves to get dropped for some consistently poor performances hangs in because of our poor list management that has failed to provide us with sufficient tall forward options to make our forwards more accountable for their performances.

As for Grigg. Was by far our worst player last week and to retain him would have shot his confidence. Gave him a taste and now it is up to Grigg to earn his spot through his performances for the Bullants.

If you argued for the likes of Ellard to be given opportunities given his performances to date you would have a stronger argumement. We need an in and under and sooner rather than later.

So if Dick would do that, why didn't he put Walls/McClure on as directors when he was president.

I love reading this forum after a loss.... Supporters are delusional.

The old Carlton would use buckets full of cash to steal the best players in the SANFL, and WAFL.

Dick got into quick turn around. He died before he had a chance to reshape the board.

This bloke would walk through the place. He mightn't say anything...he'd just pass by the office of everyone working at Carlton and give a wave...not with a smile...just a polite wave.

At Carlton, Wes Lofts walking through the place generally means 'You're on notice'. If you see him again, resign yourselves to your last words being 'Et tu, Brute?'

The old Carlton would wait until after the finals. If we didn't win a final, the coach and his staff would be shown the door. If we win one, they'd have a good talk to them about how they can take the side to top 4 next year and to a flag by 2013. They then have another 12 months to make top 4 or they're out.

If Woosha is available at season's end, I'd boot Ratten after the finals - if we make it.

I've never heard of anyone poaching the wooden spoon winning coach.

Premiership coach IIRC. Didn't Walls win a spoon or two? I think after Woosha left our assistant position and took the Weagles to a flag and a RU we were howling that we should have kept him instead of DP.

His team has looked terrible without Judd and Cousins. Not sure I'd be chasing him personally.

How do we look with Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer etc etc. If you banish a coach for a couple of bad seasons with a crap list then you're ignoring history.

A good coach will get the most out of a good list and possibly to a flag, but a bad coach will never get a good list to a flag.

We should be a lot more consistant and capable by hand and foot. We've got the most unusual gamplan I've seen. We can't play the Dome (our home ground) at all.

the Carlton of today is far better than the Carlton of 5-8 years ago ... how far back do we go in making irrelevant comparisons.
