Will be very interested to see how they go tomorrow night. Momentum should be with them and you'd think they'll win. If they have a demoralizing loss I think it might help us - they are starting to look a bit shakey, and they seem to be the type of team who can go into a funk. They will like their chances of beating the hoodoo we have over them. Need to lift a lot from tonight's performance to be in the hunt. |

If we play like we played last night we will get smacked. Need to get that forward line functioning.... Betts is not a marking target. |

Well, actually he is a marking target. I think he's more than proved that over the last few seasons. What you mean to say is he shouldn't be our primary marking target and focus inside 50. We have to develop our taller marking targets. |

The Bulldogs suit our style of play. I hope to see Bower, White and Lucas back in contention for this one. |

Also he knows where to lead and when to lead there. You'd be a fool not to kick it to him. |

His game is crumbing the packs and applying forward pressure he is not a tall marking forward. Unless you put him in a midget league. |

His game is kicking goals. He does this by sometimes leading, marking and kicking and other times by crumbing. Can't get much more rounded than that. |

Agree - and this makes him a very tough match-up. He's always tried to lead up plus do the ground work where he is very dangerous. his stats are a good 20% higher than last year owing to him being a small forward that can do alot. |

Crap, he's a marking forward, just not a TALL marking forward. Think Le Cras, too. Both brilliant at ground level, too. Leigh Matthews was the prototype of this type of marking forward (and many other facets of the game!) |

I remember pre Judd days when Betts was our lead up CHF. Why was that? Because he was the best lead up forward we had...who could mark. |

Who is going to man up Minson or Hudson when they go forward? Who is going to play on Hall. Jamison is out of form and like our other defenders, too short for these blokes. I wish Austin was fit enough and strong enough (and in form) to play on Hall; maybe net year or in this year's finals. No doubt Minson and Hudson can be matched in the ruck by Sauce. They aren't as mobile as Leuenberger. We need Hammer to step up this week. IN: Lucas Thornton OUT: Grigg White/Bower (if fit) Lets hope Gibbs' ankle improves. 10 day break should be enough. Ditto Bower. It's all going to be won or lost in the middle. Based on last night's performance, we'll get rolled by the Doggies. A bit more intensity, better hands and creating better options and less clangers and we might get over the line. Our form over the last month has been ordinary. Brisbane were a rabble last night, but maybe, just maybe they played us into some kind of form and momentum. Gotta win against the Doggies and Swans if we want to play finals, let alone end top 4...lets not think that far ahead. I'm not confident in a win. |

Oops...you know what I mean....and it doesn't matter. I'm still celebrating a win....finally. I don't think Thornton adds value to the team atm. With Jamo out of form, we can't have 2 static talls who are both out of form playing in the backline/team. |

Hard work last night but a win is a win. Several players under pressure for a spot but I wouldnt expect anymore than 2 changes at most. Possibles: In: Bower Lucas White Austin Out: Thornton Jamison Setanta Hammer and Grigg need to be given a real opportunity given that it was their first games of the year and started to show some positive signs late in the game. Thought Jammo was aweful and has been struggling for a while and Thornton adds nothing. Bower can take Hall and Walker can match up on Hahn as can White. Like to see Austin play well tomorrow and push his case especially as a key forward. Lucas's disposal and poise is what we need. |
