Well that sucks pretty hard. The most disappointing thing for me is we were unable to stop a scrote like Thomas playing a blinder. Does he play well against anyone else? ![]() |

We were terrible but take nothing away from the Kangas. They were very impressive. They didnt give us any space and they worked out a way to stop our backlines attacking ability. We fail to put in an effort once every 3 weeks. |

Too big a gap between our best and our worst. Lose games we shouldn't. Mentally soft. Pretenders. No sugar coating that performance tonight. Insipid. Embarrassing. Awful. Just when you think we've turned the corner, 'bad carlton' rises again. Absolutely gutted ![]() ![]() |

My goodness that was painful. There goes the weekend. That effort was deplorable. We can play good footy, but our bad is horrific. It was like watching the hawthorn or Essendon* games. Haven't seen the game yet admitedly, only had the radio call but it sure as hell sounds like we were not hard enough and certainly not desperate enough. I daresay a few fringe players will get a go next weekend. |

I hate to say it but I was worried about this game. Our 2nd tier get a shit load of pressure and start to get the yips. Then it is expected that the Messiah and his 1st opicks will save the day. Well they cant every week. Ratts is learning too. Rome wasnt built in a day, experience will gather composure under pressure. We will play a blinder against Freo next week. Go Blues! |

Ratten coached well today but the playing group was just shameful unfortunately for him. Believe it or not, the article in the Herald Sun I reckon spurred the umpires into having the worst showing I've seen this season, surely heads must roll for that. Credit to North they were pumped up and rebounded beautifully out of defense, and we did everything to help them ![]() Scotto, Carlos, Garlett out of a bit of form, lets hope they hit it pretty darn soon or they'll be in the magoos. IN: Bower, Lucas, Yarran, Grigg, Henderson** OUT: Thornton, Browne, Hadley, Scotland, O'hAilpin** ** = pencil it in |

Honest evaluation from what I heard on the radio... we sucked. Too many players not giving it 100% and letting their opponents get on top. Too many players believing the hype and thinking that we were in for an easy game. Too many players getting sucked into situations with the umpire right in front of them (doesnt help that the umpires are all too ready to blow the whistle for a north free kick). Army should have had another week in the Ants. As people noted in the match thread, positives for the next game. Lucas comes in and should replace AJ. McLean for Hadley (so long as McLean gets through the match for the Ants ok) White for Browne Henderson comes in for Robbo And Yarran will also be in the mix again... but who do we swap out for him? The only things we have to be concerned about is the injuries late in the term to Eddie and Judd. Hopefully they are just slight knocks and they will be good to go next week otherwise, Yarren for Betts. And I cant think off the top of my head who to bring in to replace Judd. |

We are superb when we contest EVERYTIME. We are terrible when we chase and lose position, let alone give away free kicks. Free kicks are ussually given away when you are SECOND to the ball. We are still learning. |

HOW! A bit of pressure and we go missing. I can't stand losing to shit teams..... Browne & Hadley surely has to go. We should have played yarran and Henderson. We think we are better than we are. Guys like Murphy go missing when the going gets tough. Judd, kruezer, simmo, robbo, o'hailpin etc on and on missing in action.... Still can't believe it. Everytime I have faith in this team they let me down. ![]() |

They outplayed us bigtime and had all the answers. Its a credit to them and i am not sure our team (and fans) paid them the respect they deserve. |

Agree that we have much room for improvement between the ears. But don't agree we are pretenders as that implies we don't have the required playing ability. I'm as disappointed as anyone that we have these mental fade outs, but overall the team is progressing well. We need to sort out the mental side to our game and also need to keep developing our forward structure which has been flat for a few games now. |

Seems to me the Kangas had a good look at our game against the Hawks. Put pressure on us and we wilt....... |
