I took my grandson to his first game of AFL football last weekend to see the Blues vs the Demons. My daughter blogged about it and I thought some of you may appreciate it;-

His lifelong love affair with the Blues has started.

I feel his excitement! Being from Canberra and only having started supporting the Blues at 14, I've only been to about 10 games live over the past 8 years. I too went to the G on saturday and experienced my first Carlton win. It was such a different experience going into the game with a realistic hope of winning, AND it actually happening. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face

It's been a rough few years, but things are looking up and I can't wait to experience the thrill of a premiership

That's a lovely story Peter

Let's hope young "D's" first eight years as a Blue are better than poor Dis's  I really don't think many of my age really appreciate just how hard it has been for a number of the new generation Blues who don't have memories of past deeds to fall back on.

excellent...brings a tear to the eye.
It's good to brainw....errr condition them early.
i thought I'd be magnanimous...but ended up putting my foot down when my girl had a brief love affair with the Tigers in primary school.
She had two best friends who went with their dads and invited her.
Well, it is hard to dismiss Timmy the Tiger's charms pre game is it not?
Of course now she laughs and thanks me :-)(OMG mum..thank God you pulled me back!!!!)

Lost my son (b.1986) to Wayne Carey! Hard to compete with 'the king' at his best. Still hurts
