Haven't got the link but he wrote an article yesterday in which he said after 2012 he thinks Dees will be better than Blues. Didn't really go into much detail in terms of rating list vs list, just plucked out a few little things, like Scotto/Houla will be gone but Green will still be firing ??? Silly things to say really and shows his Melbourne bias. Apart from the fact he is not a clairevoyant, he doesn't take into consideration future trades let alone rookies currently on lists and we as Blues fans know we have some good rookies right now. Mike talks about how we lack KPP fwds moving fwd and need Hendo to step up, but I'm not sure the Dees are that strong for KPP either - I count 4 rucks vs, what, 1? Mike doesn't mention Hammer, who could be anything, and doesn't think that maybe Warnock, Hampson, Jacobs come on as rucks allowing Kruez to move fwd. So many possibilities, too hard to draw conclusions like Mike does.

Lucas, Yazz, Garlett, Robbo, White all look promising in 2010, on top of our high picks and others like Army and Aj etc etc, find it hard believe we don't have as much promising youth as the Dees

Melbourne will have massive issues with their forward line.

Their defence is suspect; their midfield and flanks are going to be one of the best.

Garbage article written by someone who doesn't know the Carlton list. But Melbourne are definitely showing signs as we could see yesterday, surprised to see they have more first round picks in their team than we do.

..actually their defense is bloody good, and goin' to get better.. ..Frawley will be a v.good KPD, and grimes and morton can really set them up from back there too.. ..forward line woes can come good, if Jurrah and Wonna can stay on the park, and if Watts shows some physicality as he gets experience.. ..their problem going forward is only 1 good ruck.. ..they've got some kids that may come good, but are more project type rucks.. ..jamar can't carry the team all season on his own, season after season..

..i reckon we're better off naturally, but they've got huge improvement left in them.. ..biggest concern for the dee's is their age old problem, and thats holding onto their players..

Melbourne wont be so good so quickly, their at least 2 years behind us. Their similarly structured in that their midfield is their main strength, but I think we have them covered in the ruck and in general key position talent. I think our midfield is better as well.

Melbourne will get better, but as we know there are false dawns and consistency doesn't come easy for a young side. People can point to us having a heavy reliance on Judd, but there is no doubt he has speed up our recovery and Melbourne wont be getting any ready made equivalent any time soon.

Melbourne should be playing finals footy either next year, or the year after. It would be hard to see them on level pegging with us any time before 2014.

It is possible the 2 sides could be dominant forces at the top end of the ladder in the mid part of this decade though.

Melbourne will win a flag this decade - but not before Carlton wins at least one - maybe two.

It took Geelong eight years to go from Contender to Premier. The Dees aren't even in contention... yet.

Watts is a massive bust for them. He had two chances to be a CHF yesterday. They came 10 seconds apart when he was awarded a free kick on 50m, but handballed to some nameless chump... then when the umpire brought it back as he'd blown time, Watts went sideways with a kick to some other clown.

NicNat is raw as hell and that's why he went #2. Watts is supposed to be the sort of guy that will grab hold of the game in those situations... Meanwhile, they've played their best footy with Watts in the ressies and they're screaming out for someone to rotate with Jamar.

I suspect that if Melbourne had their time again, they'd probably go for Tyrone Vickery :donk:  :screwy:

They've got a real young star in Jordan Gysberts.....only 18, and it hurts that he went at pick 11 last year; which is the pick we gave to Melbourne for Brock McLean........

Gysberts only gets a lot of the ball because of the better rookies taking all the defensive players.

Yet his efficiency yesterday was 54% according to the stats

Seemed to me like he can find the ball but isnt that great at using it.

Cant compare the trade with him and Brock until at least 3 years

Sheehan changes his opinion on sides every week, so any predictions for 2015 are a waste of time.

The Sheahens and Robbo's and Caro's and Smiths are getting to me lately.

More and more just settling with http://www.abc.net.au/sport/ , basically covers most things without all the gunk and beatup.

That's what you get when you make tanking such a fine art like they have. And yet we are the only club associated with tanking and we're cheats!
Go figure

Poorly structured article with the typical holes.

He says Houlihan and Scotland are gone at 2012 while Green, who is hardly younger or older than either, is still going strong. Stuff like this just ruins it completely.

He's taking away so many plusses from us and dumping everything in Melbourne's favor. Who are the top teams now? The experienced teams with the most players over 100 games. Somehow in the world of the Herald Sun this is irrelevant, it's all Supercoach - you pick and choose what you want but leave out the rest.

How crazy is the media these days? Judd says the League will have money to spend, philosophically saying the league's players will get some of that, but suddenly he's criticizing what that NRL boys are getting. What has surprised me most is that pretty much all media outlets are going with this 100% twisted story. All this does is make the gullible more gullible and the trustworthy more suspicious.

There's a good movie out there with Russell Crowe called State Of Play, without giving anything away, it deals with the dying breed of real journalism. If you're anti-HUN I certainly recommended it.

We had Hampson out, was that the difference?. I bet they have more second rounders, though, which we generally can't stand the sight of. I can only think of Bower and perhaps Grigg on our list, are there any others?

Really? I hadn't heard that.

I'm happy enough for both clubs to win a few flags this decade, I don't hate Melbourne and rather them than C'wood or Ess. No doubt the Dees are up and coming but I'd still prefer our list over their list - their list still relies on potential to come good more than ours does.

Melbourne will only win the one flag - in a similar manner to how the swans broke their premiership drought in 2005.
