Well a 5 goal win is nothing to be sneezed at...

...unless you win enough ball and dominate play that should lead to a minimum 12 goal win.

Mental strength still needs work after we faded following a very, very good start.

I'm not too unhappy with a 5 goal win, given it seemed to be a cruise for most of the match. As long as we don't relax mentally enough to actually lose matches like that, and build for the bigger matches, I don't think it's a worrying sign just yet.

We were crap for 3/4 against Port
We were Crap for 3/4 against the Hawks

We are not travelling that well so any win is a good win at this stage

Hadley - Maclean In

Carlton just went through the motions after quarter time. we had the chance in the third quarter to really put West Coast away and win by 10 goals plus. Gibbs was the standout with 45 touches with Murphy and Judd also dominate in the midfield. Good to see Walker back who really does seem to straighten Carlton up with his run off half back. Jacobs development in the ruck is also a very pleasing and i must say a unexpected bonus this season.

Agree with Sydney here. Setanta was good in the first half but seemed down on energy in the second half, as did many of his team mates.

I believe WC kicked most of their goals in red time.

Anyone know how many?

i thought setanta was excellent. 2nd half not as excellent but was still marking strongly, kicking well, creating opportunities.
henderson too was very good.

thought our defense was a little shabby.
am starting to move against thornton.

Weagles kicked most of their goals in red-time. Good showing by the baggers...had the game completely dominated.

3 Goals, 2 from 50 when the game was to be won. Setup another couple. What @#$%&! more do you expect from him? He's now kicked 24 goals in 10 games in a multi-pronged attack.

Unbelievable how opinions, in spite of overwhelming evidence proving otherwise, are not wavered due to pride.

Agree we did dominate the game but probably could've won by more, still a good rebounding win from last week.

Tbird is a real concern at the moment. Beaten clearly by his opponents and lazy, cheap and ineffective disposals.

GIBBS and Murphy outstanding. How Gibbs got that much of the ball is a sad indictment on either Woosha's coaching or the strength of their list.

Very happy with the contributions of Browne and Anderson who were solid and mostly clean.

I thought Hadley provided some much needed physical presence and hope he keeps his spot to free up Juddy to the outside role.

A good showing from Garlett and Eddie provided a target but he's got a serious case of the yips.

Setanta rebounded well from last week and Hendo's just quietly chipping away.

Well done to Ratts and the MC for good selection and preparation.

Scotto's injury looked like a kick to the shin. He didn't seem to roll the ankle at all.

To be brutally honest, I was extremely worried about this game. With our injury situation and coming off a very poor performance against the Hawks, could easily see us in a dogfight. My fear was we would have a few underdone and evidently some other sore boys playing also.

So thrilled to get the w and bank the 4 points.

However it has to be said that there are still plenty of learnings out of this game. From a coaching perspective, I'd almost 'treat it like a loss' and ensure that we learn what we have to out of this game.

There was certainly some great signs at times however we were very wasteful. Can't afford to be against better opposition. We probably wouldn't of got away with the win today.

Not being fully satisfied with a 5 goal win is pretty damn good
