Its amazing how similar the stats are on these two players.

Kennedy drafted pick 4 2005 height 196cm weight 99kg
Henderson drafted pick 8 2007 height 196 cm weight 93kg

Henderson is more than two years younger than Kennedy hence the difference in weight.

This is Henderson's third year. His average stats per game this year are as follows:

7 kicks 4 handballs 5 marks 2 tackles 1 goal

2008 was Kennedy's third year his average stats that year were as follows:

7 kicks 5 handballs 6 marks 1 tackle and 1 goal

He only played 7 games.

Jack Riewoldt is a year older than Henderson, his average stats in his third year were as follows:

9 kicks 4 handballs 6 marks 2 tackle and 1.5 goals

From this perspective Lachlan Henderson is developing nicely..high draft pick, great size and similar stats to Kennedy and Riewoldt.

Reminds me of a supertramp song........dreamer.

I'm dreamin' too kenny....always will...well at least till Josh turns 28-29 then I know it aint going to happen.

Having lost Josh and looking to trade Fev, I had my heart set on Hendo and not on the old Bradshaw and middle of the road midfielder Rikechelli?? I wanted a fast young kid with stamina and height who would grow and fill the gap Kennedy left in the Judd trade for a decade.

I am happy with what we've got with Hendo and what he has delivered thus far (other than the game he played against Collingwood).
We all should be grateful to know we have a developing CHF on our list.

Henderson will become a great replacement for our Josh. Just give him time. He aint going to fully grow overnight.
We'll see him get better this year as the year progresses ,a nd again improve in 2011 and by 2012 and he should be sweet.

Who knows, but I reckon he's capable of 3 goals in the 2010 GF playing against Taylor. He's a better runner than Taylor and I love the way he leads to the ball, giving himself a chance by drawing the ball.

Henderson will be better. :thumbsup:

Before anyone asks, here is why as well;
1. More athletic, mobile and quicker.
2. Can play multiple positions, ie. forward & back.
3. Better at 2nd & 3rd efforts
4. Better below his knees.

Kennedy is a better kick (just currently) and more powerful right now as well.

Ratts has shown he is prepared to give young blokes game time

Kennedy had his first two years under Pagan he was behind right from the start I get the feeling that if someone other than Pagan had been involved in his development we would not have been so keen to part company with him - It also makes a huge difference when you are not playing along side Fev - Hard to get a kick when he was demanding the ball so often

But still we got the best player sine Kouta pre knee so we cant complain to much

I think Lachlan looks better at the same age than Kennedy did before he left. And Hendo has had less opportunity thus far.
I think he is coming along fine but could use a dose of confidence to help him along

I think it's remarkable JK averaged as high as he did under Pagan, given he spent 98% of any game he played on the pine because he didn't fit Pagan's grand vision...

Too true.

The Pagan/Fev days were dark, dark days, and seem darker every day as we move closer towards that light at the end of the tunnel.

The thing I like about Hendo is that he gets to the right spots and positions himself well in the contest to take the mark.
He's got the instincts of a true KPP, just needs a bit more time to round off his game.

Did any of our early picks fit in his vision or more importantly, did he even have a vision? Or was he just counting his beans to reinvest in racehorses. He was a pathetic coach Dennis Pagan that deceived all those that showed faith in him.

Thats a bit harsh HB.

There's no doubt Pagan had the right intentions, he just failed to adapt to the demands of modern football and managing players.

Like most he didn't realise how bad a shape we were in at the end of 2001

Kennedy= more footballer than athlete
Henderson= more athlete than footballer

Both are ok ....... I'd prefer Kennedy to play for me on Grand Final---more grunt. Nothing wrong with Hendo.

..i disagree, both are footballers.. ..wouldn't consider Hendo more athlete than footballer at all.. ..and as for grunt, i'd say they're the same.. ..they both are quite happy to split a pack open.. ..over the last few drafts they're both probably the best two Traditional type CHF's going around.. ..currently Hendo's lacking a bit of confidence, not surprising for a kid with little experience at a new club, with Fev's shadow still lurking in some ways.. ..i reckon he need to play him as a leading up target, let him roam deeper into the midfield on long searching leads, he seems more comfortable playing that way atm and he wont be so nervous around goals..

Bottom line: Hendo ain't going to get worse.

What I like about him so far is that he get's into the right places on most occasions, and gets his hands to the ball in most marking contests he is in. Yes, he's not always completing the play by taking the mark, but that will come. As the original post mentioned he is 6kgs lighter than JK is now, and at least half of teh difference will be upper body strength he now lacks.

I agree he will be more versatile than JK ultimately, and looks to have as good, if not better running ability.

He's a big part of the future, though I definitely think we need to have another KPF and KPB prospect being developed. We may already have these on our lists, but not really ready to step up.

Based on the stats above I think we can draw upon a conclusion that all 3 players will play at least 200 games, between them they will have 8 children and they will all visit New York at some point in their life.
