My life at stake, so me. I'm deadly accurate from 40. Otherwise, Tony Lockett. If it has to be current Carlton player - Kade Simpson. Has a good action and the only one who would be mature enough to deal with the situation to trust his ability to go back, kick the goal and call off the sniper atop the Ponsford Stand.

Funnily enough I was thinking this at the Port game.

Setanta had a shot and I said no way in hell will he get it...he didn't

Yazza from roughly the same area. Straight through the middle.

So Yazza ! Or Gibbs

If he didn't know that someone's life depended on it, then I'd have to go with Houla. However I'm not sure of his record with crunch goals (he did miss that one in the saints game last year, though to be fair that was about 50m out on an 45 deg angle). Otherwise, probably Simpson.

But of past Carlton players,Justin Madden - he was a fantastic set shot (if it had been a bit closer, eg 30m or less, then I would've gone with Kouta. Don't think I ever saw him miss one of them).

Dennis Commetti was asked this question on Ch 9 (or 7) coverage one day and stunned his fellow commentators by nominating his mum.

When questioned why, he said "at least I know she'd be trying".

With all due respect, Kade Simpson would be one of the last for me. Too hit'n'miss.

Yarran - could process wind factor, angle, humidity, chill factor, length of grass etc within a split second to ensure his kick was cm perfect.

One might call that ability 'magic'. Just don't tell that tosser Goodes.
