my play of the day is a simple one. Yarran's last quarter goal. There was nothing special about it but it was the most important goal in the game and the 19 year old was under huge pressure to put it through. It never looked like missing and sealed the game. Most players his age at that stage of the game would not have kicked that. |

The Chad's bad handpass to one of our boys on the wing that went to Yazz in the last for the sealer. Yazz's subsequent sshh to the crowd was even better. |

Agree with Yarran's last quarter set shot. Beautiful composure, really important time of match, honouring the great work in getting the ball quickly up there. 14 goals and only 6 behinds this season, a great return so far. |

For me Scotland's goal on the run, while not extravagant or spectacular by any means, was nonetheless the one bit of play that had me jump up off my chair, bec it meant we were right back in the game and had all the running. In fact the whole play was noteworthy - started with Judd's ferocious attack on the ball, then Army's deft little kick to Scotto, then Scotto nailing it on the run. Outside of this, Yazz's one handed mark and the composure to seal the game with another good kick from a fair distance on a fair angle. |

The pace play of the day was my favourite amongst many. It all starts with Carrazzo blocking for Gibbs on the HB flank. Those two (not elite runners) had Carrots run hard to block and create space, and then Gibbs ran the ball out with a few bounces looking very fast; always do when the you have a break on the chasers. Gibbs sizes up the opportunities as he does. Sees both Armfield and Yarrran sprinting from the other wing across the ground to the 50m arc. Both players could have taken the mark in the open forwardline given the opportunity. Both players extremely fast which makes Army elite, because he won the race and marked the ball. He's within kicking distance, but decides to kick across the other side of the field to a 200cm sprinter, who easily outruns the big backman. It's Setanta who marks the ball. GOAL!! We have a lot of pace in this team, and when we block for our teammates, even slower players look fast and move the ball fast. We are improving in the 1%ers and are supporting our team mates on every line. We are a very special team. Very fast in the mind and legs. Perhaps the game plan has been finally understood by the team. I also really enjoyed the tempo footy because it was used to great effect late in the 3rd and in the middle of the last. Very effective and the timing couldn't be better. Showed a lot of maturity. |
