Heard the interview, summary of what he said; Gibbs-said he heard Hutchy on the Footy show and said that was the first he had heard of him going to GC17, said Hutchy had no idea. He said they were "closer" to agreeing and Gibbs had never given any indication of leaving. Membership-had a good response this week. Pokies-said he was glad Mathieson is a Carlton supporter and should secure the clubs future and pay off debts. New tenants-umpires looking at becoming new tenants when the Storm leave at the end of the month. A caller asked about Murphy and a few rumblings that he wont re-sign past next year, he said that he was contracted until 2011 and they would talk later in the year. A poster on BF said that Murphy didnt get on with Ratten and was looking at leaving when his contract is up, maybe this is what the caller was referring to. |

They use to say that sort of thing about Murphy and Pagan. Either Murph has a problem with authority or these rumours are complete BS. Id have my money on the rumours being BS started by a troll or some kid on his school holidays. The only players i can see leaving to GC or GWS are players on the fringe of seniors ie Grigg and hadley or players at clubs who have won grand finals and are now looking for some retirement money. ie Mooney, Ablett or any of geelong over 26 year olds. All our top players will stay and get paid fairly and get a premiership. If they go to GWS for money they have rocks in their heads and we should be happy they are gone. |

I don't really subscribe to players who leave a club purely because they don't get on with a coach. Unless they are being denied game-time by it. Murph is getting a game, and is playing in position. I don't see him wanting to leave if he is just "not getting on" with Ratts. I say it's BS. People who expects there to not be fireworks at times between coaches and players would be naive. |

In a way you are meant to hate your coach.. The coach is not there to be mates with the players. Murph is not only getting a game every week he is playing full time in one of the best midfields in the comp, with Judd. You seriously can't believe what you read on BF (out of all places) |

I dont think its Marc himself who is interested in going but id be more inclined to say that someone like his manager or family is putting the "financial" incentive ahead of anything else. IMO. |

But does he play truen midfield, a lot? I'd argue he is playing on a HFF a fair bit, and maybe if the rumours are true he is peeved he is not playing midfield a lot more?? But then neither is Gibbs. |

Chose to forgo F/S at the Lions to stay in Melbourne and then leaves the club as it becomes a contender to play on the GC or in WS? |

But then neither is Gibbs. When is he playing HFF? Our forward six are O'hAilpin, Waite/Henderson, Houlihan, Betts, Garlett and Yarran and those are the only players in the forward huddle at the breaks. They're exactly that, rumours and we're only spreading them here. |

People who expects there to not be fireworks at times between coaches and players would be naive. +1 Plus he plays with passion. I bet Murphs knows he's on a winner at CFC; he said that to me. I left a club because of a hopeless coach midway through a season. At the end of the season I got 3rd in their B & F. That coach had no idea. Ratts is a legend and seems to have a close relationship with the players. Pagan= old school. Ratts = new age sensitive guy. I'm sure Ratts is not rubbing players the wrong way. He is not an old fashioned type coach like my old coach. |

The rumour I heard from a Carlton power broker at the Richmond game said that Murphy's legs/hips are no good and has apparently informed the club that he won't play past the age of 28. He wants to be traded to GC, Carlton then get a good pick, he gets some good coin in his short AFL career. |

The rumour I heard about Murphy is that he likes to wear dresses and think he'll fit into the Gold Coast culture. |
