I was wrong about JR. Credit to Jordan. Credit to Ratts.

I'm still right about Thornton.

Yup me too. I compared him to Tom Harley and was bagged. I was wrong. He's better than Harley.

I was not wrong about JR.

Backed him from since he got drafted.

I was wrong about JR, he is a great player.

I feel I was right about him not earning his spot for a long, long time though.

Since very early on he has been the grunt and muscle in the team.

Skills are now catching up.

He is in the Mots and Macka mould. Hard arse from SA.

I wasn't right or wrong.

Russell (like all footballers who show skill at a young age) needed to be given 4 to 5 years to develop.

Provided the player displays the right attitude and does everything in his power to "make it" it's at that time you make a serious assessment.

So maybe I was right.

NEVER, EVER Cain Ackland.....

Every time I hear the word 'Hacks' on coverage, I think of that wasted ability and wish he'd done more with us.... Still - could be worse, we could have mortgaged our future for Kosi!!

Kosi would be a better player in a team that kicked the ball to him.

Would be a nice pick up for a late pick.

Actually I think we should go after Goddard and Wells when free agency comes in, just to stick it up the AFL. Goddards Mum must have loved last night.

I admit that I didn't always see his worth when others did, and thought he should've done more to keep his spot ahead of others. But I don't recall ever out-and-out saying he would amount to nothing like some others did (although I did have doubts).

So if this makes me wrong, then I was wrong.

Same. I don't judge players early and write them off and JR is a shining example of why.

Over the last 20 years we've probably delisted half a dozen JR's that would have gone on and become serviceable AFL footballers (thats not to say JR is only serviceable).

I also don't analyse every drafting or list management decision. Its not an exact science, the recruiting department and MC make a call based on what they see.

We're seeing this year with the form of not only JR, but Setanta, Armfield, Yarran and ratten that flying off the handle and making rash statements can make you look like a goose. Good thing about the internet and forums like this is you're commiting it to writing and maybe someday someone will go back and drag it out to remind you
