ORDER IS RESTORED!!!

Those moles were born to be our underlings and have had a nice little mirage for 9 years – it’s all over. “Shit club no history”!

And don’t tell anyone but I think we have a gameplan.

PROS

1. Gameplan – Make no mistake, Ratts was looking down the barrel after Essendon*, even from inside. Since, he has instilled a desire to run at all costs from the backline and take the game on. It doesn’t always works but it’s a system.

2. Setanta’s Little helpers – The thing is, they’re all good. They’ll all play over 100 games for CFC.

3. Setanta – crashes a pack. Ain’t a star but is becoming a Spalding type player.

4. Army and Russ – they ARE the game plan. Take it on and run at all costs. Russel is almost McKay like (yes I thought he was a hack).

5. The midfield is deep - Murphy now cops the number one tag, which is harsh for him, but opens the game for Judd and others. Simmo and Heath are consistent.

Special mention to Houla’s negating forward role.

CONS

1. Thornton doesn’t naturally take the game on which is our new game plan. He is on borrowed time – won’t play 50 more games for CFC if Walks, Bower and Aussie are fit and come on.

2. I don’t get Chris Johnson, offers nothing

3. Like Kane Lucas but panicked and turned it over a few times. Great future for Kane though!

4. I think Goddard beat the Gibba.

5. The game ended, so much fun bagging those hacks. Could’ve gone forever!

4-3 after 7 is beyond anyone’s expectations. Should be 5-2 but won’t dwell on that!

Going to the Footy was fun again tonight!

They know that they’ve been playing against the famous old dark Blues!!!!!!!

QFT. 25 from Judd = 40 from Ablett.

the thing is, i dont think its just take them on all the time (i.e. Essendon* game plan) there is purpose and poise to the way we are doing it.

i thought some of the defensive work on the st kilda kick outs was superb from us.

my only real con is thorton. i dont think he was horrible, but he just moves the ball slow. its a interesting one, but i think he basically gets a game by default at the moment. Both Walker and Bower to be ahead of him IMO.

and just quietly. Lucas. Lets not forget the fact that we got him because of the trade for Fevola.

Lucas is a star. He has played his 5th game, and already looks like a player who has played 50+ Games. really happy with the way he is going about things. Is now part of our starting 22!!

p.s. i thought carazzo, having had a few lean weeks, was superb on del santo. destroyed him.

1. Thornton .... a bit scary....
2. Johnson not at this level

Pros

Its over (the flowering streak) :thanks: :thanks:

Juddy was unbeleivable at times tonight. Even Revolt was talking the great man up

Setanta...........Earl Mk.II. Great recovery skills and rarely beaten in 1 on 1 contests.

Lucas. He is just a kid, and has looked comfortable against the best. Caught a few times but geez he's a ripper

The Brothers. Simply some of the most exciting footy you're likely to see.

JR is rapidly becoming a legend. And yep, I too used to bag him each week.

Sauce made big strides tonight. Provided a contest and dished off well in the packs. Looks like another week in the red for 206.

Waitey's 1st quarter was superb. Will get better as the fitness and confidence in the knee improves.

Tackling/chasing/pressuring was back this week. A big focus was made during the week and the boys responded superbly. We've only been out-tackled once this year (last week against the Filth). Must keep this a focus, especially the forward line defensive pressure.

Great coaching from Ratts and co. Perhaps the Essendon* game will prove a defining moment ?

Cons

Not tonight.

It is nice to be respected again.

Everywhere I go I read opposition fans giving us props not just for the result, but for the way we go about our football.

The media will have to stop writing our wins off as lucky now, and we won't start at $5 again against anyone again for a long time.

There are so many Pro's
But mostly Carrots and Hoops backing up the roles they played last year when we were pushing the top clubs.
Just goes to prove we are a great team when we switch on, not just a Fev team.

Such a great game all round, even if we had only won by a goal I would be wrapped as i thought we truly played as a unit.

Also don't undersell White - thought he played his best game tonight.

CONS: (Nothing bad, but a few constructive comments)

- Johnson is improving, but still don't see why he needed to come in. Would prefer to give someone else a game
- Armfield's running is fantastic, but he constantly stuffs up fast breaks with his inability to handball in traffic
- JR played a fantastic game, but he still goes sideways too often and too slowly when there are opportunities in the corridor. If thats his role, fine, hes playing it well, but he needs Bower's dash and penetration to balance it out
- Lucas is getting amongst it constantly, but still struggles to link up and retain possession. He will improve

Pros:
Great win!
We have now hammered both last years grand finalists. Great effort by all concerned.
JR has improved so much that he is close to being in our top 5.
Carrots answered the critics beautifully.
Judd as usual.
The gameplan of run and quick ball movement continued even in the absence of Bower and Walks and the inclusion of Thornton...great work by the coaches box.
Special mention to Carlos...he has his knockers but anyone who plays with the passion he does will always give you much more than those who play with no heart...love his passion love his commitment and he creates so many opportunities to those around him with his unselfishness...he is no Fev but he gives us so much more than Fev ever did....he plays a team game..well done big fella!!!

Cons:

SFA

For me the biggest pro is that we played the game on OUR terms. The same happened against Geelong but was lacking against Collingwood and Essendon*. It's clear when we play to our strengths regardless of the opposition, we'll beat anyone.

In the past against the aints, we'd have been overly concerned with how to crack their defence, how to combat their zone, how to stop this player and that. Tonight they seemed less focused with what the opposition were doing, and focused on what we do well. Like the hawks before them, the aints have been found out and 14 coaches would've watched tonight with great interest. I expect the scum to trouble them next week.

Oh, and THE STREAK IS OVER!!!
