Have often wondered about this.

EG : Does CFC name Judd at FF this weekend for a particular reason? Is there logic behind it? Is it bec he will genuinely play outside of the middle to protect him (I recall 2 yrs ago he got slammed on-ball against the Saints)? Or bec we think he is a agile/quick way we might score against the tight defense of St.K (as opposed to going tall)? Or is it simply bec it is meaningless where they are named and so Ratts will just decide "Ah, faaark it, just put Juddy at FF and we'll figure it out on the day"?

The same could be said for several other players. Why is Houla on a wing this week when in recent times he has played as a defensive fwd? Will he REALLY start on the wing? Or again, is this just the MC playing games?

This weekend's team/squad...

Carlton

HB: Heath Scotland, Paul Bower, Jordan Russell
C: Kane Lucas, Aaron Joseph, Ryan Houlihan
HF: Chris Yarran, Setanta O'hAilpin, Kade Simpson

VB, traditionally teams used to line up as they were named.

Now we name a squad of 22 and are required to put them in some order. It bears some resemblence to how we'll line up, but plenty will change. As you know with rotations, even the way they actually line up changes in the first 5mins.

Its not a case of "we'll work it out on the day" though.
