Post subject:  Injuries and Momentum

The injury to Nick Riewoldt has brought the Saints back to the pack. It demonstrates how the competition has evened up and how important your key 6 or 7 players have become. To some degree Brisbane's loss on the weekend could be attributed to Luke Power's absence and unbalancing the Lions midfield.

We have had a few injuries that have afffected the Blues in recent years as well:

eg Kouta going down with his knee took the wind out of our sails heading to a Grand FInal in Round 20 2000.

More recently losing Waite last season maybe cost us a win or two which may have resulted in a home final.

I know Walker isn't in the same group as the above but he looked to have finally found a niche in the team and in the last two games at least had given us a missing X factor in the backline.

Will his injury hurt us over the rest of the season or do we have better depth this season to be able to fill the holes?
