I am about to go to Mexico again for a couple of months and as usual I have scoured what is left of my brain to try and improve the method of listening to or watching the games and it suddenly dawned on me that there is a way for EVERYBODY in WHATEVER COUNTRY to watch it. Skype. You need a laptop with Skype downloaded and enabled plus a highish speed connection to the net and a plan that allows a fair bit of upload/download. My missus spends at least an hour on Skype a day back to Mexico and my 4Gb plan is OK. You need a friend or family here in Oz with the same PLUS a camera PLUS a plasma/LCD screen. I have just tried it on two laptops and it worked quite well. The trick is to get the camera well positioned to reduce the reflection off the screen and close enough to get the sound broadcast. This doesn't work with an old-style TV due to the way the pixels are transmitted to the screen that makes the image roll at the recieving end. Voila. |

![]() The image rolls because the refresh rate of an old TV is slower than the capture rate of a modern web cam, even though the transmitted frame rate is much lower. Your idea works, but it is terrible quality video. There are plenty of people you can PM for video links for the game. I won't be able to help you for tomorrow beyond the existing 'schedule' because I'll be going to the game, but if everybody who is interested can just PM me today, I'll sort out a regular mailing list and send the links out tomorrow morning, and each weekend. |

Yeah, it's pretty sad we have to resort to such trickery to watch a game of footy which the TV networks have gone to such trouble to film. I'm happy to pay money for such things but the AFL/Networks can't get their stuff together for such a simple proposition. Often in Singapore I get the match live on Australian Network TV via Starhub (which means I can also record it on the setop box when I am not around). If Australian Network TV don't happen to broadcast I'm stuck with a crappy, low quality replay a couple of days later via Aussie Sport TV, which is the AFL's lame attempt to bring AFL to the rest of the world. I must have spent 5 hours watching last weeks game from Aussie Sport TV due to download speed issues (even though I am on 12 Mb Starhub Cable plan), and even when it was playing the quality is embarrassing. |

If anyone else is watching from NZ, the game is televised live today on Sky. Doesn't happen very often so enjoy it while you can.... |

This is a far simpler option @ USD 6 per game available in US and Europe : http://www.omnisport.tv/page/2010ToyotaAFLPremiership Not sure why the streaming is not available in Asia ![]() |

my two cents wrote: This is a far simpler option @ USD 6 per game available in US and Europe : http://www.omnisport.tv/page/2010ToyotaAFLPremiership Not sure why the streaming is not available in Asia ![]() Aussie Sport TV is meant to be a streaming service, but not live, but of a replay. Problem is my "stream" of the Adelaide game took 5 hours ![]() |

Thanks for the tips guys. Does any one know if there is another option in UK for the carlton v collingwood match? Omni sport is not showing this match for some reason in the UK Cheers |

If you're in the States, probably Mexico as well, just join espn360.com and watch it there. They've shown four of the five Carlton games so far. All fairly high quality. All live. Available on replay as well. Carlton Collingwood starts at nine US Pacific time. |
