Consider this: Round 1, Carlton defeat Richmond by 56 points, 18.12.120 - 9.10.64 Verdict: Richmond are hopeless, we should have beaten them by 100, it's all Ratten's fault, you can't judge anything by the result. Round 2, Western Bulldogs 17.18 (120) d. Richmond 7.6 (48) Verdict: Western Bulldogs are a true top 4 team, and show it by thrashing Richmond Round 4, Carlton 16.7 (103) d. Adelaide Crows 6.19 (55), at AAMI Stadium, after playing some horrible footy for a bit over a quarter, from half time until part way through the last. Verdict: Adelaide are shot this year, the result proves nothing, we only won because the Crows couldn't kick Round 5, Western Bulldogs 18.13 (121) d Adelaide 10.12 (72) Verdict: This proves that the Bulldogs are a force this year, and last week's defeat was an aberration. Funny thing peoples' perspective, isn't it? |

The cows are a good side, just not in sync ATM and to beat them the way we did in the cauldron that is AAMI Stadium i thought was a pretty decent effort from our boys. Over the past couple of years we have had the Doggies measure, But they have gained an experienced FF and we have lost one. |

And we when we knock off Geelong tomorrow? The Cats didn't take the game serously enough, and of course they were all so tired from last week's third quarter effort. wishful thinking? |

did you just make up those views on the dogs? After the dogs beat richmond who claimed that they were a lock for a top 4 lol? and watching the telecast of dogs v adelaide, leigh matthews said it best when he said the 'dogs arent quite functioning well as a team atm' perspective is very interesting, especially when you just make it up. |

I paraphrased views from news and sport reports, and from what's been written here. I didn't use comments from commentators during the matches, rather afterwards, which is why I used the term "verdict" |

well then you are completely wrong about the 'verdict' after Carlton beat Richmond, because all newspaper articles/ views were raving on about how we have many forward options and replacing Fev wont be as big a problem as what was thought during preseason. |

This reminds me I've decided my least favourite football commentator is that fat ass Scott Cummings. He HATES Carlton, and every week tips against us saying we need to come back to earth. Perhaps because we're the only club that never wanted him? Anyway, I have faith our side is around the same level as Western Bulldogs. |

More importantly, it will be interesting to see our match tomorrow, and then against Collingwood, both matches are winnable, IMO. |

Seriously though...every match is winnable KK....look at how even this season is panning out (Richmond excluded and maybe the scum)...we have to take our opportunities when they come along cuz the 8 is already filled with new teams jocking for our position and these are teams we thought were on the decline or at least still a few years away from competing...we just cannot afford to be buried in the 'we are getting there' or 'we just need more time' or 'our window will open in 2015' jargon...take each chance as it presents itself and u just never know what may transpire.... |

We have beaten Richmond & Adelaide this year. Lost to Essendon* ![]() When we start beating teams of value "consistently", then and only then, can we expect some positive media. We have a chance with Geelong, Collingwood & StKilda over the next 3 weeks. Not long to wait and see how good we are this year. We'll know in 3 weeks time and so will the rest of the footy world. |

That's my point exactly. Other teams, like The Bulldogs have beaten Richmond and Adelaide, by similar margins to us, yet have their wins magnified into great victories, and their losses mentioned, but only briefly, as if they are an aberration. Our press, somewhat magnified by sentiments here, seem to be the opposite. |
