Quote: Nor would it to be right to assume that this column blames Carlton for Fevola's dreadful social skills. Simply that the club has hopefully learnt its handling of Fevola did him no long-term good and, in fact, continued to subtly paint the picture of the invincibility of talented AFL footballers. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/blues-were-too-soft-on-fevola-20100417-slkc.html |

Too early to make a call on this...one thing is for sure we can do a whole lot more to become a much more professional outfit... |

We indulged him for far too long, so really, she is right. Buts its obvious isn't it? We have learned from this mistake. Ratts had some back bone and dropped some name players this week. Our result yesterday will give the MC the shot in the arm to continue down this road of not accepting mediocrity. |

Actually, she's right. Interestingly, over the last 6-8 years, there have been those Carlton supporters who have felt the Club didn't come down hard enough on Fevola, and the apologists who kept saying that his antics weren't an issue and to get over it. The apologists were in full force right up the the bitter Crown Casino end. It is now blatantly clear that the Club didn't act strongly enough, both for the Club's sake, and Fevola's. Don't have a go at Wilson for telling it how it is (although you can definitely have a go at her for not writing a lead article on how Richmond has been covering up for Cousins, instead burying a an aside reference to it in the middle of the Fevola article). |

Good call, Gary. Obvious call. Even a 3rd grade kid could see that. |

All she's doing is stating the obvious, giving herself something to write about so she doesn't have to comment about Richmond and Cousins. |

In all fairness to "hotlips" Wilson she has been pretty vocal on footy classified re Ben Cousins receiving warnings for drinking. |

She's pretty much spot on with this article. Great to see him playing such fantastic football for the Lions, only wish is that he was still doing it for us ! |

She is right but the issue is finished now. Hopefully fevola will learn from his mistakes and Carlton learn from theirs. |

..it's rubbish.. ..with us, he didn't want help.. ..simple as that.. ..we could have moved him on sooner, seems that was the only thing to get through to him.. ..but this whole gambling addiction is just as much him saying what the journo's have been hounding him for a few years.. ..i doubt he'd have come clean if there wasn't so much media pressure on the issue.. ..and who knows if it's true about him getting bailed out by the pratt's.. ..also, let's not go pattin' the lions on the back, fev's only got a few years left, we'll see how supportive they are once he retires..IF he doesnt stuff up and get moved on.... ..and personally, i've watched some lions games and i don't think he's playing that well.. ..he's a great footy player, but he seems 'down' on form..doesnt seem to move as well/fast.. ..and he's dropping marks he'd normally swallow.. ..still very much in the 'honeymoon' phase over there.. ..give it time still.. |

There were some games I went to where Fev didn't appear to be trying right from the starting whistle. A couple that stood out to me was the match against Freo at Carrara last year and another against Freo at Subi in 2007. I wonder who Fev was betting for in these 2 matches. Lucas and Henderson has been a fantastic return for him - thanks Vossy. |

..there's an article [didn't read beyond the headline] that reckons 'underworld sources' are claiming that fev went to gatto for a quick loan.. |
