These are the games we live for. No choice but to beat them. They're well overdue. Hate them more than anything.

Pretty much said it all right there.

I think my thoughts on this particular subject are well known, no need to go over old ground.

Last 5 times we've lost to them, however they've had Lovett, Lloyd, Lucas, McPhee, Chamberlain and McLaren in.

Lovett used to absolutely carve us up with his pace, and they will definitely be missing him a bit this year. Lloyd was strong overhead, as well as drawing the 'occasional' free-kick, and he is no longer there. He has been pivotal against us in the past. Lucas could be a problem at times too, between the forward line and back line. Could slot them from outside 50 and give the Bombers another avenue to goal. Some very important players for Essendon* no longer around.

I think our spread of goalkickers will help us immensely next week. Fevola used to bag 7 or 8, but the amount of times we would go to him was ridiculous. We will be unpredictable next week.

A little concerned with Monfries. Always seems to have a good game against us. Ratten will need to do his homework on young Angus. Same goes for Williams- I think he could turn it on next week.

Just going to put it out there...
What will happen if we lose? Will the pressure be upped tenfold on Ratten?

Hopefully McLaren is out for them.

I don't think even the men in yellow can help these poor bastards next week.

bluehammer, you may have missed out on the Lions winning by 39.5+ but you can get it all back next week by betting against the Bombers 39.5+

Pro: Essendon* don't have Jonothan Brown

Con: Matthew Lloyd won't be playing

"DEMOLISH THEM"

Hope the Bow Bow is back.

Eddie will need to improve and if he does and is amongst it with Yazz we are in with a chance. Hope they don't have two bad ones in a row which I think is unlikely.

Anderson is a conundrum cant afford to make silly mistakes again and cost us easy goals. But needs game time... I'll play him...but by god whoever is going to make that decision to play him or not is going to be a tough one. Has given easy/weak goals away two weeks in a row. Unacceptable.

The singling out of Anderson by posters is blatantly unfair when I see many others in the team making the same mistakes but for some reason they aren't mentioned. It's ridiculous.

I think structurally we're going very well and our midfield is doing the job.
As a team we simply need to be more effective with our execution, especially with our shots on goal.

I'm confident we can comfortably account for the overrated bombers if we can convert on the scoreboard.

I think we will need to make a change or two to get some pace in. They traditionally beat us by running and carrying the footy from half back through the middle. We don't use the middle much so we don't set up to defend it well.
Anderson isn't over quick so might have to go. Maybe Garlett can come in. We missed Bower's run and height last night. They must have known he wasn't a certainty to play and with Brisbane's tall forward line they might well have planned to take someone taller to the gabba.
Next week, the Bombers with no Lloyd or Lucas is a different team to the one that has regularly beaten us for the last six or eight years.
Play like we played last night and kick straight and we should get up.
And defend the corridor. Please!

Essendon*.

isn't it funny how we're in exactly the same position with them as they were with us two years ago.

Williams couldnt turn on a prostitute in a brothel.

I'd rather masturbate with a cheese grater than see us lose to that pack of red and black !@#$wits AGAIN!

If it is unacceptable why give him more game time?
