Jim is a good Carlton man and I'm sure we all extend our sympathies to him and his family.

Sympathies yes...a tragedy whenever a small child dies, but (and i'm going to get lambasted for this), a part-time journos (who happens to barrack for Carlton) non-Carlton supporting son passes away...and the club are giving it the royal treatment. They hit trouble because they can't be consistent - would they do a write-up for Peter Daicos' boy (Carlton supporter) if he passes away?

Better to do it than not Doc. They might get it right from now on in.

Bad news whatever way you look at it.

Jim previously did a lot for the Blues Doc. He would MC a lot of events and generally donated a heap of his time.

Poor form... don't know how how anyone could take this angle when reading that tragic story.

Terrible.

I didn't realise last week when Joseph ran out with the boys. Ch 7 mentioned Sam, but didn't explain who they were.

Doc I don't think I can ever forget your poor response to this story, who cares who his son supported, Jim Wilson is Carlton through and through, I still recall him on the stage during the 95' celebrations - never seen someone so happy

pretty ordinary post that one doc. Jim Wilson hosted a heck of a lot of carlton functions over the years and donated a lot of time to the club. It's not about who the boy barracked for. It's about expressing sympathies to man has had plenty to do with the club. Don't agree with your theory of 'you can't cover everyone so why do it for a few' and I think your criticism of the club is unwarranted.

Knew I'd be lambasted...probably not a subject that warranted airing at such a tragic time - it's just that there have been close relatives of club legends and servants who have suffered family tragedy and you don't hear a thing.

And they should have been acknowledged too. Atleast the club got this one right.

Incredibly sad news- caught up with Jim at last year's B&F and a more welcoming and generous fella you could not meet. Condolences to Jim and his family at this most difficult time.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.
