Last year I got phoned by the marketing team for the Game day' raffle. $200 a ticket, 1st prize $40k, just under 3000 tickets.

I'd had a good month so grabbed a couple which are to be drawn end of March.

Got a call yesterday from them wanting to know if I'd like to buy another ticket as 'sales hadn't gone well'.

Must admit to being surprised. Sure its no chook raffle and $200 is a stretch for some, but I would have thought in the 9 months its been on, 2,500 tickets would have been a gettable target.

Anyone else contacted/buy one?

Probably not a great climate in which to be selling $200 raffle tickets.

Just under 3,000 tickets at $200 each = $560,000. Given that first prize is $40k, they can afford to sell a fair few less than the anticipated number of tix and still turn a decent profit.

I wonder if Jeff Edelstone will win again?

They called me up and I bought another.

I won a $45,000 Suburu through this raffle a couple of years ago so I treat these expensive raffles as a yearly car repayment. :smoking:

Meh, $40,000. It's hardly a meat tray

Seriously though it's not that I don't have the money, it's just that 200 bucks is 200 bucks...I don't want to see it go that easily.
