Just heard Greg Swann on SEN saying that the re-signing of Bryce Gibbs is close to being finalised.

Please let it be true.

Thanks for that, please let it be true.
Interesting thing Andy Maher said this morning on radio. He was talking about Ablett and
GC17 and said he has heard that 6 of the 9 players they have targetted have signed and that Abletts contract is along way down the track.
If true, i wonder who the 6 players are and am surprised it hasnt been leaked out.

Interesting.

Who are the top 6 players under 26 who are coming out of contract??

Kruezer just signed

Wondering what is happening with Selwood?

GC have said all along that they'd target Ablett, and then straight to Selwood if that fell through.

Selwood would be the perfect player for them, IMO. Young enough to play 200 games with the club, good enough to be their best player from Day 1, and a leader who could bring a young team along with him. And the money they could offer him would be far, far, far in excess of what the cats could.

In fact, I might email GC and remind them how good he'd be

You would imagine they would target a couple of KKP and a ruckman.
This is going to be a fascinating year. Who are our uncontracted players?
From memory, aside from Gibbs, are Grigg, Russell, Fisher, Johnson, Yarran, Garlett, Hadley, Robinson, Browne, Austin, Anderson, Scotland, Houlihan, Wiggins, Tiller, and a few others.
Not sure about Waite, i know he signed a 3 year contract but cant remember when.
Would any of those be of interest to GC17?
My money is on Rischitelli being one of the players who will go.

..funny, and from a GC perspective they'd have their first captain [longterm too!!].. ..i reckon Selwood would be a better target, possibly cheaper too, or if the same money better value long term..

It's an interesting choice. Would Ablett have much marketing power in QLD?

Swann also said that someone was injured at training last week. At first they thought it was serious, but after scans, it was found to be not so serious.

Anyone know who it was, and what the injuty is? I note that Simpson didn't play today.
