Thoroughly enjoyed it. I even recorded it, so I own a copy of it now after all these years. Made me again realise how much of a c%$# Dean Wallis is. When he got reported he wouldn't even turn around to show the umpire his number. He defines the word. Essendon* really only played one good quarter- and that was the third. |

The highlight of that game will always be the SOS chest bump to Monga who fell like a stack of poo. |

I forgot just how good Dean Rice was in the last quarter. He was almost as much a spark as Kouta. Awesome game - I kept sending my scum mates text message score updates. |

Hamill was brilliant for us also. Makes me bleed whenever I see old footage of him at his best. |

Certainly not the only time SOS dealt that tratment to Lloyd. I specifically remember Lloyd getting a free kick and was actually surprised when it didn't happen watching last night. |

its hard to explain why but football was better in 99 than todays washed down sanitised version bit more mongrel and agro less umpire theatrics etc |

The actual game itself hasn't changed a great deal, umpire interference has become more prevalent though. I also recorded the 95 game v WCE a few months back, and whilst it will always be remembered for Spalding's hit on McKenna, Silvagni also threw his weight around quite aggressively too. |

VOTE FOR KOUTA! http://signup.foxsports.com.au/competit ... sedayNight Carlton v North Melbourne, round 11, 2000 Before he was a gladiator, Kouta roamed AFL fields with the strength, speed and skill of, well, a gladiator. Arguably the finest physical specimen to play the game, the Carlton No.43 could pluck the Sherrin off the turf with one oversized mit and bound away from opponents. Against the Kangaroos in 2000, he gathered the footy 38 times and booted five goals. The Roos threw everything at him, but, in his prime, damage limitation was an opposition's only hope. MAKE IT HAPPEN. ![]() |

In terms of importance the best game I've seen Kouta play was the 99 prelim. But in terms of utter dominance, that game against North in 2000 was one for record books. Even Carey couldn't get near him. |
