Guys

Does anyone else have trouble with watching the videos on the cfc website. Everytime I click onto one, it takes me to an international visitors site.

Have heard of problems with people in Tassie, but seeing as the site is run by BigPond it is most likely a certain glitch that just happens randomly. I'm on Optus and can watch the videos fine, so it shouldn't be a subscription thing either.

The video player has also changed as of yesterday and they put the Mars Conference up

Really. I could not watch the Mars press conference either.

I know I changed by internet provided from AAPT to TPG and now I cant watch them anymore.

Woops, double post

P.S despite not being able to watch CFC TV, you'll be much better off on TPG

I'm on TPG - no issue?

Any other changes that you made? Perhaps you just need to update your version of Flash.

No, only changed to TPG nothing else.

I will try and update the flash drive and see what happens.

But its weird as when you click onto a video it goes to a site for international visitors and asks for subscription.

Thanks for your help guys, I have also emailed the club. This is surely an issue if other people have the same problem as me. Less exposure for the club.

Ah - that's something else. Do you use Internet Explorer or Mozilla?

Internet Explorer. I never had problems watching videos before I changed to TPG.

Sounds like an IP issue....Bigpond might have your TPG IP listed as an over seas one.

That may be the case but the first thing you can do is check your proxy settings to make sure nothing is set up. If it's being fed through an international proxy, it may present your IP as a non-Australian one.

For IE 6.0 and up:

On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings.
Under Proxy server, click the check box to deselect the Use a proxy server for your LAN if selected.
Click OK to close the LAN Settings dialog box.
Click OK again to close the Internet Options dialog box.

If that's not the case, contact the club and inform them your IP is being picked up as not in the region (check the IP here), they'll forward it onto the Telstra team responsible. Typically it's a outsourced service that is just a bit behind on their listing procedures for new IPs. Be patient though, because that won't happen overnight.

A temporary fix would be to input TPG's proxy settings, but bear in mind that would potentially lock you out of services that only allow you a set number of uses or minutes per day per IP address, as you would be in a bun fight with all the other TPG proxy users. The instructions for enabling the proxy server are as above, but simply ensure the box described is checked, and place 'proxy.tpg.com.au' as the address and the port as '80' (both without the quotes).
