Thanks Caz. Sounds like the club and these boys may have turned a negative into a positive. They need to continue to show that commitment throughout the season but very pleasing to read this report.

Great to hear something so positive come out of a bad situation.

Impressed with how Eddie Betts looks. Don't think I have seen him fitter! Have always been a fan of his talent but have been frustrated with his lack of ability to get himself in peak condition.

If he can stay fit he could easily be a top line footballer and spend time on the ball. Guys like him who can read the ball off the pack and kick it to position are rare and can make a huge difference to the side. Hopefully this incident has woken him up to what he needs to do!

Absolutely agree London Blue!

The other thing I would say is... congratulations to the players for taking their punishment on the chin and working to better themselves. I think it is credit to them.

And well done to the club for sending them there too.

I'm waiting for the negative nellies to pipe up over something... but from my perspective it is well done to all concerned.

First decent article I have read in the Hun for many months. Credit to Jon Anderson & the club

The pics on the back page & inside the rag are great.

Hoops looks in absolutely fantastic condition.

Can’t believe the club would release this story, what was Coutts thinking? :donk:

..great stuff to see, more to the 'punishment' than first i thought.. ..i initially felt that missing preseason games was neither here nor there as far as punishments go, and while dissappointed by their silly pre-xmas follies, i wasn't ropeable.. ..but this kinda hardcore training is alot more in tune i reckon....

Should send the whole list to that gym - seeing it is so good for their fitness

This is the first positive article I have read about us in the Herald Sun for ages. What has the world come to.
Great to hear though

Now let's not be naive nellies...

While some might find pleasure seeing them being physically caned, the question is do they honestly now realise the off-field professional standards required to be an AFL player??

"This is an old-school punch-in-the-head gym, and believe me, those boys didn't get it easy. They were intimidated when they arrived and we quickly told them how weak they were," said Foster, a former amateur boxer who attended Riverdale Technical School with Ratten.

 Funniest thing I've read in ages. Doesn't sound like the sort of place I'll be going anytime soon though... :yikes:
