Pro

Knew all I needed to know about our players, coaches and club after the first quarter.

Surely now some decisive action will come. Whatever the problems are .....they have to be addressed NOW.

Con

Season on the line and the game was effectively over after 20 mins.

I only listened to the game on the radio (and not very intently after half time) BUT.

Pros-

Yarran
Hammer got better as the game went on

Cons-

Pretty much everything else.

We can't stand up to the pressure and stick to our guns under pressure like the top sides.

That's why we turn it over.

They're not all that poor by foot.

Sorry.

It's an indictment on our players, coaches and structures that we can have so much of the ball yet struggle to score.

Pros: like last week home early again.

Cons: no reward for not making the 8 with gold coast getting all the picks.

Con: I went.

Pro: The fat kid in the little league #19 for Swans on the city side wing was a good source of amusement. My mate and decided he'd be a good recruit for our backline.

If there is anything to be redeemed from the debacle we have just witnessed, it is that we now have certainty.

Whilst many of us thought that the club was broken, now we know it is.

For the umpteenth time this season, we get smashed with an essentially equal inside 50 count.

The coach of this team is an abysmal failure. He has not instilled a forward structure in 3 years (with or without Fev), he has not been able to play us through the corridor consistently, he has not been able to have his captain protected consistently. He has made 2 horrendous trades.

This litany of errors could go on and on.

Brett Ratten must be sacked. But I’m not holding my breath.

PROS (the hardest week to find positives in all the years I’ve been doing this)

1. The mirage month against Geel and StK has been exposed as a.......mirage. We had a gameplan but it was a one trick pony with the 3 amigos and the corridor. It has been dismantled by numerous coaches and we now know where we’re at.

2. Heath Scotland had a crack

3. I really really can’t find anymore

4. I guess Lucas looked good for 5 minutes

5. Yep, I’m all outta Pros.

CONS

1. Brett Ratten – how many times do players have the ball in the centre square for us, look up, see nothing, then stuff up due to lack of options. Over and over and over. This is a fundamental structural breakdown and YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!

2. Brett Ratten – you spent all preseason talking about tempo footy and chip chip gameplans. Didn’t work. Then you decided to go the corridor. Worked for a month, but then teams blocked it up. Now we’re back along the boundary. There is no consistent ‘brand’ or style of play and YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!

3. Brett Ratten – When we have players running through the square, they need a target to hit, but because you and your sidekick Lappin are so obsessed with ‘rolling up’ the ground, all our midfielders see is a bunch of navy blue bums running to goal with their back to the footy. This is the worst forward line plan I have ever seen and YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE.

4. Brett Ratten – Our forwards are never in the hotspot and lead to the boundary to take impossible shots. Our midfielders don’t run hard enough defensively. Our backmen aren’t presented with a consistent outlet when they get possession, in fact they often have nothing to kick to. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE

5. Bad injury to Kane Lucas – very unfortunate.

We have the talent, we’ve all seen it with our own eyes. We are better than this.

But the talent is being utilized in such a disorganized and ineffectual way that the finished product is completely hopeless.

No wonder the players seem disillusioned and drop their heads.

Brett Ratten must take responsibility for this.

The club is in turmoil.

RATTEN OUT

Pro - One game closer to the coaching staff getting sacked.

Con - playing like Richmond and West Coast did early in year....we just have no idea.

CON: I expected to see us come out breathing fire after last weeks disgrace.
Sadly I was subjected to another chapter of the same. Sorry Ratts and crew I've defended you guys for a long time but I'm officially off.

Pros: Hammer kicked 2, should have kicked 4. Yarran trying to take the game on the first half. Can't think of anything else. Ellard and hopefully some other newbies should get games now. Oh yeah, Brett Kirk's dive in the forward pocket.

Cons: Disposal is just disgraceful, by hand in close and by foot everywhere. We seemed kind of up and about at the start of the game, and two shocking turnovers in our forward 50 by Betts and Carrazzo in the first few minutes set the tone. Gibbs is meant to be an elite kick - at the moment he is a liability.

With all due respect, anyone thinking David Ellard will make any impact on this team is delusional.
He is a great VFL footballer... nothing more.

Yes he deserves a game on his reserves form, without question.

But he will do nothing at AFL level. No tricks, average paced and slightly above average disposal.
