I hate Adrian Anderson... knob

Carlton were also asked to explain why they had not kept the AFL informed of events at the time.

But AFL football operations general manager Adrian Anderson said he had been set a "detailed response" from the Blues this year, but said the club needed to implement a policy when dealing with alcohol.

Anderson said the "the AFL will appoint an appropriate person to consult with the club to further assist the club in its approach to responsible use of alcohol".

"Failure by the club to address this issue will result in sanctions," he said

How embarrassing........the AFL have decided that we are unable to show enough direction to our players so they've sent someone in to do the job for us!! Correct me if I'm wrong but we've probably got the highest paid CEO in the AFL haven't we?

Today's article(s) in the HS and Age report the player return to training this week:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/banne ... 5825083838

Now the next article to come in a couple of weeks will be about why are the banned Blues playing in the Challenge Cup series?

Although the club hasn't come out and cleared this up, I'm tipping the HS will make something out of it when we lose to Sydney and the boys are playing in whoop whoop.

Do you think the AFL made the right decision not to further penalise the Blues' players involved in the booze cruise?

The players welcomed back in the door and the AFL taking no further action of the booze cruise. Time to move on now and look forward to a good year of footy ahead

What gets me, is if the AFL is so worried about alchol then why do receive sponsorship money from the industry. I look forward to the AFL banning alchol on Brownlow night and serving soft drinks and juice.

Personally I think gambling and the problems it brings are just as bad if not worse than alchol so again why do they take sponsorship money.

Is someone working with one hand tied behind his back??

Who's calling the shots?

Who's supposed to be calling the shots???

Who's setting the agenda???

Who's laying the pathway???

Wonder if the AFL's interest has been stirred in part by sites like TC going into meltdown?

I agree Budzy. Surely the AFL are taking the piss or perhaps calling this person a babysitter is giving his role a bit too much cred.
Id say he is just someone who is going to work out whether any of rules we implement are within the rules. Someone to report back to the afl that things are actually happening. Babysitter might be a bit too much.

Glad its all over though. Maybe now the AFL can channel their energies into straightening out the culture of violence at Essendon* and StKilda.

'Appointing' someone to make sure we behave is 'appointing' a babysitter... obviously.

Why would the AFL appoint a babysitter?? ...when we have the best CEO ...on massive money...

Obviously the AFL have no faith in someone at Carlton ...who??

the AFL have several people appointed already in community responsibility and such wank roles already

its not like they are creating a new position to 'babysit' carlton

We will be required to submit our detailed policy and plan on alcohol to some paper pusher who will co sign it and give to adrian anderson

the situation is being overplayed somewhat

the AFL loves good media ...hates bad media

for some reason they don't think this club .. with the best and highest paid CEO .. can straighten out by themselves

somewhere somethings not right! ..obviously!! ...the AFL don't do things like this without a reason
