I know the NSW Supporters Group is interested in organising an official club function before the NAB Cup game in Western Sydney. Given we're not going to play in Sydney again for the year (except for a final maybe), then would people attending the match be interested in a pre-game function? It might be important to show the club they would get a strong turn out.

Yep. I'd be there, but I'd have my 5 year old (Carlton) with me for a change.

If however I could get his mum along then I could have a couple with some beautiful (blue) people prior to the game, knowing I have a designated driver with me, or alternatively pay the taxi driver $120 for the ride back home.

i'd be keen if i can get to it.

i'll have a chat with some of the others down here in the ACT supporters group and if it gets some legs it could be a goer.

Where and when were you thinking?

for us ACT people somewhere near the ground would be best.

If the NSW Supporters Group have anything to do with it, it will probably be organised for one of those far-west pubs, like one on the other side of Anzac Pde.

I'd be very interested in one, if it were done sensibly, and we didn't get a cursory wave and grunt from a few players.

All together now: "ROOTY, ROOTY, YOU LITTLE BEAUTY!"

PS: for all the Canberrans heading up this way, they've swapped the lanes on the Hume from Campbelltown Rd to Brooks Rd Ingleburn where they are widening the road. Be careful. And the stretch from Narellan Rd is 80kph.

Don't see why not. There's bound to be a restaraunt/buffet which will be all ages or under 18s under supervision only area.

Hi Molly - yep I'm keen.

Please post the details of the function as soon as their finalised.

FWIW Rooty Hill RSL is a not a bad idea. Theres a couple of bars so thats always a good thing :)

I'm from Canberra and like Gerry am a part of the ACT Supporters group. I couldn't believe it when I saw we were playing in Blacktown. My partners family lives there and it just so happens we had already planned to be going there for her nieces B'day that weekend!! I have even managed to convince her to come to the game. I will make a Blues supporter out of her yet!!

Happy days indeed.

PS: No disrespect to people from Blacktown, but this match has to be the most exciting thing ever to have happened there!!

I think McDonalds was and probably still is the biggest thing to happen to Blacktown.

How many people will go to the Blacktown oval every fortnight? Maybe 10,000.
Well McDonalds does that many transactions a day in Blacktown. :yikes:

Def interested in pre game and may be interested in splitting a cab on the way back to the far east if there are takers for a maxicab.

Yep. Watched Australia beat the US at softball (in the 13th innings) during the group stage, only to end up losing to them in the finals, and come away with the Bronze.

Some of the baseball was also there, as well as maybe discus I think.

There's more than one stadium too.

Bondi we'll have to talk closer to the day.

I think it's a great idea for a get together nice and early to meet and gtreet and get revved up for the entertainment.

Spewing. Have family commitments that weekend.

I can only really afford to attend sydney games, and have never attended one of these functions.
