If you compare the two teams, there isn't much difference. I would say our forwardline would be better then theres... man for man Quienten=Ohailpen Hansen = Henderson ... and our small forwards would be way better. Midfield would be quite similar given Mclean performs and plays similar to kerr/steniglien in and under. Murphy would be quite similar to cousins. Our rucks (Kruezer/hampson) i would say are better than cox...soon anyway. I would also rate waite a better swingman than Hunter was and might score some wanted goals. In defence, glass would be slightly ahead of jamo...the rest we would easily cover. The thing we lack might be the hardness that waters and chick brought to the team. what do you guys think? |

Seriously, there midfield is far more superior than ours. Cox, Kerr, Judd, Cousins and Fletcher - you won't get better than that (yet) |

It's an interesting comparison. Talent wise we're at least on par IMO. Naturally, WC were at the peak of their powers at the time with their game plan/style than we are now. There's really no excuses for us to be going backwards now. The footy department have the talent, are they capable of moulding it into a premiership side? |

henderson = hanson? henderson has hardly played, hanson was already a developed player and lynch wasnt great but he was better than setanta. kerr was better than mclean and cox was still ahead of our rucks. \ agree waite better than hunter |

Most of their team had also played in winning finals and lost a GF the year before so they understood what it took to get to the top instead of sitting on their hands and doing nothing to protect a 6 goal lead in an elimination final. They also had a good coach and a gameplan ....... we have neither ....... |

Ruck - they beat us hands down FB - they beat us hands down FF - Lynch bagged a lot of gls that year, so they beat us hands down without Fevola Midfield - beat us comfortably until Murphy and Gibbs mature into fully fledged stars Waite = Hunter but Waite is coming back from an ACL so time will tell Both clubs rate poorly for off field fiascos
