AJ I reckon the HUN are pretty selective on which stories they allow comments on, you're right...

After Fev got traded to Brissie, I sent the following comments to the hun (in this order) as an experiment.

First one: "It had to happen. The club was in an untenable position, and the fact they were still able to salvage a first round draft pick and a promising key forward is something to be pleased about despite what's been lost"

Second one: "HAHAHAHAHA SUFFER CARLTANK!!!!! NOONE TO KICK YOUR GOALS NOW HAHAHAHAHAHA ANOTHER WOODEN SPOON FOR THE CHEATS!!!!!!"

Guess which one they printed

Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett suffers hamstring injury

Quote:
YOUNG Port Adelaide star Hamish Hartlett will miss most of the NAB Cup after tearing a hamstring at training.

They forgot the bit they usually add at the end of the articles about Carlton players...

Young Carlton star Hamish Hartlett will most of the NAB Cup after tearing another hamstring at training.

Hamish Hartlett is the younger brother of former Carlton star Adam, who also had terrible hamstring injuries in his time at the Blues. Adam Hartlett was recently charged for assaulting two men at an Adelaide service station in the suburb of Glenelg. The former Carlton player attracted wide spread attention and scorn for a cowardly off the ball attack on a Richmond player. The Herald Sun believes this behind the play incident may have contributed to Cam Howat's decline in form and subsequent delisting.

I think its strange that as of this moment 10.30am on Tuesday 19th January - there are no published reader comments on the following stories in the Herald-Sun:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/b ... 5820991611

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/m ... 5821034083

Yet any Herald-Sun story pertaining to Carlton's indescretions are not only prominently displayed in the Herald-Sun's online but the readers comments section are still open for any bogan and no-show Scum and Filth supporter to be able to post and publish their bile.

Its interesting that anything that I have tried to post on line to the Herald-Sun to the above stories have not been published on line - have any other posters had similar difficulties??? :?

I've submitted a comment, but strangely enough, I haven't seen it posted yet. Anyone got an email address for the Letters page at the HUN?

YES!

I posted a comment on the Herald Sun website regarding the Hurley article and they have not published it!

When I have posted a comment about a Carlton article, it always gets published (along with 150 others)

Very interesting...

Hurley is facing court.

Not sure that you can comment on his case and say that he assaulted someone...

Yes, that does make sense on why they are not publishing comments...

Went straight to the Entertainment section whilst reading the HUN with the 'Translator' and I see the pricks are advertising a film called 'Percy Jones and the Lightning Thief'...now Percy might have been a lot of things, but I'm pretty sure Lightning Thief wasn't one of them!

Check out how the same story (essentially) was reported in 2 different papers...

In the Herald-Sun

Jordan Russell Says Blues have Moved on from Off Field Dramas

Just take these few paragraphs from the HUN

Quote:
Russell today declared that the playing group was in a healthy state, mentally and physically, despite enduring a pre-season interrupted by ugly off-field incidents.

Former Blue Brendan Fevola's alcohol-fuelled Brownlow rampage was followed by last month's booze cruise, which ended in fines and suspensions for Eddie Betts, Ryan Houlihan and Andrew Walker -- the latter two fighting with security at Crown casino.

"Of course we haven't forgotten about it, but post-Christmas the players and coaches have all moved on and we're just looking forward to our Round 1 NAB Cup game against Sydney," Russell said.

and the Age

Jarrad's Wait is Nearly Over

And virtually the same paragraph in the Age...

Quote:
In the wake of last month's boat cruise that ended with Eddie Betts, Ryan Houlihan and Andrew Walker fined by the club and banned from the pre-season competition, Russell said the players and coaching staff had moved on.

''We haven't forgotten about it, but post-Christmas the players and coaches [are] looking forward to our round one NAB Cup game against Sydney,'' he said.

Trivial? Perhaps.

Looking forward to this being used in the next few days when they are commentating on Justin Madden's ministerial appointment...

With a bonus no doubt if they spell it right, and use it properly.

Just saw today's Hun at the coffee shop, and I noticed with no surprise and much disgust that the Hurley story is tiny, buried on page 11 with no picture, and the list of every discretion every committed by an Essendon* player mysteriously missing.

This article is so small I doubt the "Carlton Story Translator 2.0" would be able to analyse it.

I also notice that the online story was never featured in the sports section and was buried in the news section where it is now history.

And its also good to hear that Mark Robinson is still more interested in Carlton's Christmas party. It says really everything you need to know about him and the gossip mag he works for.

There are no words that are permitted on this website that accurately descibe my opinion of those that work at the Hun, so I will quote Conan O'Brien, Hun esta manejado por hijos de cabras imbeciles, which I think means they are all brainless sons of goats.
